FIVE: A Mother's Warning

Nana-Chan's POV:

Mumbling something, I rolled over and slowly opened my eyes to see Travis looking down at me looking exhausted and I realized I had fallen asleep on the beach.

Sitting up, I scratched my head and seen that Travis had put the jacket I was wearing underneath my head so I wouldn't get sand in my hair and I looked over at him.

"Did she end up showing up?" I mumbled, rubbing my eyes as I looked around seeing the sun starting to peak over the ocean and then looked back at Travis.

"No" He mumbled, I smiled sadly at him and stood up stretching and grabbing the jacket, I pulled it back on and looked out at the water wondering if maybe she was out there.

"She'll show up" I said, Travis nodded his head and we started walking back towards the palace together when I heard something and stopped looking back out at the ocean.

I looked closer and then watched blue hair emerge from the water, I gasped quietly and looked closer to see two pale blue eyes staring at me, titling to the side slightly.

I looked over at Travis and then back at her, she nodded her head and let more of her face be seen as she smiled and I smiled looking over at Travis realizing he was about to walk away.

"Travis!" He jumped and turned around to face me, he looked at me confused.

"What's wrong?" I smiled excitedly and started running back towards the water, he followed me as I pointed out the to the water with an excited look on my face.

"Princess Katelyn's here" His eyes widened as he ran into the water a bit and looked closer and finally she emerged from the water some more and he smiled.

I watched as she swam closer to us and titled her head to the side, she's beautiful with pale skin and powder blue hair that was slicked back from the water.

"Hello again Prince Travis" She finally spoke and I smiled as she jumped out of the water splashing him, he laughed and walked further into the water without a care in the world.

"Hello Princess Katelyn" I smiled at them as she smiled and looked over at me, I waved to her never having got to meet her but always wanting too and she swam closer.

Travis watched as I kneeled down and she pulled herself up closer to me where I seen a blue scaly tail just like her hair and a blue seashell bra on her chest.

"Hello" She greeted.

"Hi! I'm Nana-Chan, I'm Prince Travis' handmaiden and childhood friend" I introduced, she titled her head and looked at me with a slightly confused expression.

"What's a handmaiden?" She asked curiously.

"I'm a personal servant to Prince Travis, I stay by his side and help him out with whatever he needs. Including waiting around for you Princess Katelyn" She smiled at me and looked back at Travis who watched us.

"Are you going to join us?" I shook my head.

"I cannot swim and I have to get back home, I must help my baby sister with chores" She nodded her head as I stood back up and she watched me, I waved to them both and turned around running off.

I could hear her splashing around in the water and looked back over my shoulder to see Travis watching her swim around him with a smile on his face.

I turned back around and ran up onto the grass as I started making my way back towards the house hoping that my parents aren't awake yet and haven't noticed that I'm gone.

I played with the sleeves of the jacket and wondered if they would know that it came from a pirate or if I could play it off as an extra one Travis had laying around the palace.
