Nana-Chan's POV:
"Time to get up Nana-Chan!" I groaned and rolled over in bed, yawning as I ran my hand down my face and forced myself up into a sitting position and looked around the room.
The chair that's usually pressed underneath my door, is moved somewhere else and I knew my mother had been in room this morning, snooping around at things.
There wasn't anything moved out of place so there was nothing to worry about, so I stood up and walked over to push the chair back into place again, to keep her out of my room for now.
Yawning again, I walked over and sat down at the vanity and rubbed my eyes and then picked up my hairbrush, unbraiding my hair, I started brushing it and heard the door knob jiggle.
Rolling my eyes, I finished brushing my hair and carefully braided it over my shoulder, tying it off I flipped it over my shoulder and stood up, walking over to get dressed.
Just as I finished tying my shoes up, I hear a quiet bang on the window and looked over to see a carrier bird with a note stuck to the leg flapping it's wings in front of the window.
Walking over, I unlocked the windows and pushed it open and carefully untied the note stuck to his leg and he flew off back in the direction he was sent from.
Closing my window, I turned around and unfolded the note carefully and started reading it.
Come on talk to me, Nana. Something's up and I know that you are ignoring me because someone told you, so just talk to me and tell me what's going on instead of ignoring me.
I let out a breath and folded the note back up and tucked it away so my family wouldn't be able to find this...or well snoop around to see if anything would be found.
Snapping out of my thoughts, I pulled the chair out of the way and walked out of the room just to see Kia waiting for me with a smile on her face, ready for the day.
"Mother said I could go with you to the palace today," I smiled at the thought of spending the day with her. "And it'll help with my school project, can I go with you Nana-Chan?" She asked.
"Of course you can" She cheered excitedly and grabbed my hand, dragging me with her towards the stairs with a huge smile on her face, I laughed at her reaction and followed her downstairs.
Grabbing an apple each, we ran out the door and noticed mother was out in the gardens, but she didn't pay any attention to us as we ran past her towards the palace.
Kia begun speaking more about everything she wanted to see today and most of it included talking about Travis and wanting to be around him because she still has the biggest crush on him ever.
Walking into the palace with her, Amber greeted us with a smile and gestured down the hallway where we found Travis reading a book about the tales of mermaids.
"Travis!" I called out to him, he looked up and smiled at us, he closed the book and made his way over to us, Kia's face instantly turned red when he was close enough.
"Kia, will you be joining us today?" He asked.
"Yes!" She squeaked out.
"How nice, well I was hoping that we could go for a walk down by the beach?" Travis asked, I knew that meant he wanted to go and see if Katleyn would be hanging around.
"Of course Travis" Kia looked nervous but I just winked and squeezed her hand, knowing exactly how our parents are about the beach but Travis requested it and they can't get angry at the King's request.
Kia looked around in amazed as we slipped out the back way and begun the journey down to the beach while keeping out of sight of all the guards around.
Kia rushed forward, squealing excitedly as we reached the beach, I ran to keep up with her a little nervous about her being near such a large body of water without being able to swim.
I kept her by my side while we walked around the beach and for the first time in her life, she put her feet in the ocean and let out a happy laugh at the feeling.
She used to tell me about her dreams she had of being able to go swimming and enjoy her time out in the water, but until she learns howt o swim she's not going further then ankle height.
Travis looked around a bit, a smile on his face as Kia pulled me into the water further, I let out a gasp and looked around noticing that Zane was on the docks.
He was sitting on the railings, his eyes trained on me with a slightly annoyed expression that had me looking away instantly because I didn't want to give into him.
"Nana I want to get further into the water" Kia said and I shook my head, tugging her hand back while Travis went further in...that's why she wants to go into the water.
"You don't know how–"
"Maybe King Travis can help me, right?" Travis looked over and nodded his head, I narrowed my eyes at him but still let go of Kia's hand and watched her head further into the water.
Travis grabbed her hand and pulled her further out, holding her up while I watched from the shore with an anxious expression on my face...so many things could go wrong.
I moved until I was near the edge and then kept my distance, looking around at everything my eyes drifted over to Zane again who was still watching me.
It was almost like he knew that I wanted to go over there and speak to him but I couldn't do it...I didn't want to risk his life...and who knows what my father would do if he caught me with him again.
Zane may be able to fight but my father will fight dirty and do whatever it takes to kill Zane...and he promised to lock me away until he marries me off too...I just wish I could speak to Zane.
