Helena's POV

The white stick shook in my hand. The little pink plus sign was so daunting. I stared at it, my body shaking. Emotions and questions swam through my body. Is it a boy or a girl? Did you need to go to the hospital? Would Gerard drive you- Gerard! My mind screamed. What was Gerard going to say? Did he want to be lumbered with a kid? We'd only been together for five years and you weren't married! Was it too soon? Worry and doubt clouded my mind. I could feel one more emotion slip into my thoughts. Excitement. I was gonna be a mother! There was a tiny piece of me and a tiny piece of Gerard inside of me and it was going to make a tiny person. I flopped onto the sofa, holding the test in my hand and twirling it around like a fairy wand.

I wondered how to tell Gerard. Get him a card? No, no too cheesy. Just outright tell him? No I don't have the guts or nerves to tell him correctly. Cook him a cake and put a pacifier in the middle? No, he's probably choke. Why did I have to do this? And more importantly how would he react? Would he just up and leave forever? Then, I had an idea. I charged into Gerard's office and scanned the desk for art supplies. I found what I wanted. His little black sketch pad and some art felt tips.I got to work, selecting colors and drawing gracefully. The best thing was I can draw like crazy. And this is how I got a job as a tattoo artist. I got my hand caked in inks as I dragged it along the page.

That's when I heard the familiar car door slam and the jingle of keys. The front door opened and closed. I placed the pad on the table and hid the art supplies hiding the test in my pocket. He called out a hello and I heard him put down his keys and remove his coat. "Hey, how was your day?" He asked smiling and walking into the kitchen to get a drink. Okay, he was in a good mood. He must have thought a lot in the studio. I can do this. "Fine, nothing really happened." I called back to the kitchen. I crossed my legs and uncrossed them multiple times, nervously. I crossed them as Gerard walked in with a water bottle half empty.

He smiled and sipped his water. He leaned over and pecked my lips making my stomach flop. I took a discreet deep breath and looked up at him as he screwed the cap on his water. "You know how you always say you can say what you can't with a drawing?" I asked. He nodded and took another gulp of water. "Well I drew you something. It's something I can't say so I put it in our language." He looked intrigued and somewhat worried. I gestured to the coffee table and he grabbed the sketch pad sitting down next to you. He flipped through the pages of ideas. One was the cover of I Brought You My Bullets. Another was a sketch of the Three Cheers cover.

And one was an unfinished cover for their new album The Black Parade. The rest were comic book sketches. He finally made it to the one I drew. It was of Gerard with his long black hair and his makeup. He was wearing a suit and I drew a thought bubble that said "I can't believe I'm a Daddy!" Gerard almost dropped the pad when he realized. In shock, he looked up and stared into my eyes. I nodded slowly and smiled wearily, still unsure of how he felt. A huge smile broke his blank expression. A sparkle filled his eyes and he began going red with happiness. I even swore a few tears welled up in his eyes. He couldn't even speak, just smile.

I reached in my pocket and pulled out the test. He cradled it and smiled even wider. He placed everything on the table and tackled you with a hug. He kissed me and smiled wider and hugged me tighter. He stopped and looked into my eyes, "We are going to be awesome fucking parents. And I love you." I smiled wider and he kissed me again. He laid next to me and sighed dreamily. "I can't believe we're gonna be parents!!!" He exclaimed turning to face me. I froze, "What are we gonna name it?" He smiled, "If it's a boy, we name him James." I gasped, "Why JAMES!!!!!" I asked in disbelief. "Isn't that Mikey's middle name?" I added.

Gerard nodded. "And why would we name him that?" He chuckled nervously. "We were a bit tipsy and we both promised each other that if we have kids, we would have to name it each other's middle names. So don't worry, if Alicia and Mikey have a kid and it turns out to be a boy, then they have to name it Arthur. So we're good." "Fine but I get to name the girl Bandit." He chuckled. "Sounds better than James. Speaking of them, we have to tell him and Alicia." My smile faltered. "Did he go to the studio today?" I asked softly. Gerard looked down and shook his head.
