Poppy's eyes fluttered open, and she regarded Dogday with a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
"Poppy," Dogday began, his voice filled with urgency, "we've got a problem. The other critters are going crazy. This place has only brought misery to us. We need to escape and help them before it's too late!"
Poppy, still groggy from her nap, focused her attention on Dogday. Concern furrowed her brow as she listened to his hurried explanation. The mischievous critter continued, outlining his plan for escape and the dire situation unfolding within the Playtime COs factory.
"I've mapped out a way through the vents and catwalks. We can escape and get to safety. But we can't leave the others behind; they're counting on us," Dogday implored, his eyes reflecting the gravity of the situation.
Poppy, fully awake now, nodded in understanding, before her expression changes to fear.
Dogday turned around, and a sudden and unexpected sight brought them to a sudden halt.
Standing in the doorway was Elliot Ludwig, the enigmatic C.E.O. of Playtime CO. His presence sent a chill through the room, casting a shadow over the peaceful atmosphere. Elliot Ludwig's expression was unreadable, a mix of curiosity and something else that Dogday couldn't quite decipher.
"Ah, Dogday," Elliot Ludwig spoke with a calm yet disconcerting demeanor, his eyes narrowing as he regarded the critter. "I see you've found your way into the heart of the factory. What brings you here?"
Poppy, always poised and diplomatic, stepped forward. "He's come to ensure the safety of his fellow critters. How could you let this happen?"
Elliot Ludwig's gaze lingered on Poppy before shifting to DogDay. "I suppose you're the one responsible for the alarm setting off half an hour ago."
Dogday, sensing an underlying tension, couldn't help but ask, "What's happening, Mr. Ludwig? Why are you turning kids into monsters?"
Elliot Ludwig's expression remained elusive, but a subtle intensity colored his voice. "Dr. Sawyer approached me and the other executives in the late 80s with a solution for this company's ongoing problems. At the time, decreasing profits were causing Playtime Co. to crumble. The Doctor proposed the development of giant toys to increase the workforce and cut costs as a potential solution."
Poppy, ever the voice of reason, spoke, "We need to help our friends. Can you assist us, Mr. Ludwig?"
A wry smile tugged at the corners of Elliot Ludwig's lips. "You're determined, I'll give you that."
A sudden noise cuts through the air.
At that moment, a bullet shot through the air and struck DogDay in the chest.
He felt like millions of sharp nails were digging into his flesh as he fell and hit the cold hard floor.
Elliot's smile faded into a menacing grin, as he put the gun he had just shot from back in his pocket.
Poppy stood there in the case, in shock.
"Guards!" Elliot shouted to the Security Guards entering the room, "Drag this thing back down to Playcare!"
