As she stood in the open field, the sound of the Crystal's heavy breaths echoed in her ears. She knew what was coming next - the figures on the horizon would appear again, but this time, they seemed closer as if beckoning her to safety.
Without a second thought, she ran as fast as she could, her heart pounding in her chest and sweat covering her body. Tears streamed down her face, blurring her vision, but she refused to stop.
Suddenly, a voice in her head called out, "That's enough, little heart." The darkness descended, and everything disappeared - the roses, the crows, and even the figures on the horizon. She was left standing in an empty void, with nothing but silence surrounding her.
As she tiptoed through the dimly lit room, she felt something wet under her bare feet. She recoiled in disgust as an ironic smell hit her face. Curiosity got the best of her, and she bent down, letting her fingertips graze the liquid substance. But before she could process what it was, the dark, empty room suddenly started reflecting mirrors in a circle around her.
Her heart racing, she saw two masked figures appear from each side, but she couldn't tell if it was two or just a reaction. What was even weirder was that they were in the mirrors, as if watching her every move.
Frozen with fear, she finally mustered the courage to ask, "Who are you?"
"You'll find out soon," one of the figures said, his deep, dominant voice echoing in the room.
"But not now, little heart," the other added, his voice equally melodic.
As the hairs on the back of her neck stood up, her legs suddenly gave up on her as if remembering that she was running for her life.
Suddenly, a loud crash echoed through the room, and all the mirrors shattered into a million pieces. She woke up with a start, gasping for air. As she looked around, she realized she was back in her room, but something was different.
With a sense of confusion, she rushed to her bathroom and gazed into the mirror. To her amazement, the bite mark on her neck had vanished, and all the hand prints on her body had disappeared. She couldn't believe what she was seeing and let out a nervous laugh
As she leaned on the counter, she whispered to her reflection, "I must be going crazy." She checked the time on her phone, and it read 12:07 am.
As she walked out of her bedroom, Crystal couldn't help but feel a sense of dread creeping up her spine. Something felt off. And then she saw them - two black and white roses, sitting innocently on her kitchen counter.
She hesitated for a moment, but her curiosity got the better of her. She slowly approached the flowers, her heart racing. That's when she noticed the note beside them.
'Soon enough, little soul. You will be ours'
Crystal's hands shook as she read the ominous message. She looked out of the window and saw two doves flying away. Was it just a coincidence or something more sinister? She quickly closed the window, making sure to lock it tight.

As Crystal stepped out of the Uber and paid the driver, she walked towards the entrance of the building. Rachel was already there waiting for her, looking a bit frustrated.
"You seem to be disappearing every time I need you," Rachel said to Crystal as she was about to head for the elevator.
Crystal paused and turned around to face her friend. "What happened yesterday?" she asked.
"Oh, Mr. Mancini let you go after you passed out. He took you to the hospital and gave you the day off," Rachel said as she grabbed Crystal's arm and pulled her into the elevator. "Are you feeling better now?"
