"It's not that hard... I mean, all you have to do is pretend you're giving birth, so I leave."
Crystal shrugged with raised eyebrows and asked, "If you were just gonna ditch the poor guy, then why say yes?"
"I thought he was hot, and then I opened his Instagram account and found out that he was a mommy's boy. To his stepmother. Crystal, come on, help me" Mona whined as she grabbed Crystal's arm and pulled her towards her.
Crystal shouted in fright, "Mona!"
"Oh, sorry, I forgot your dramatic fear of stairs and anything that has a high edge," Mona giggled. Crystal froze and stared down wide-eyed. Even though they were only on the second floor, it didn't help at all. "Anyways, will you help me?" She asked with a pout.
With a sigh, Crystal was quick to climb up the stairs muttering, "Why break up with your boyfriend when you know you're just gonna bother me about your next one?"
"What?!" Mona exclaimed as they reached the third floor with a couple of people on it. "It's not my fault you're 21 and still haven't given a BLOW JOB!?"
"Mona for God's fucking sake, SHUT UP!" Crystal yelled at her sister and then turned to her neighbors. "She's lying. I've given plenty of them," realizing her mistake, she covered her mouth in embarrassment and quickly claimed higher with a laughing Mona trailing behind.
"Plenty, huh?"
"Shut up."
Crystal finally reached the fourth floor of her apartment building, and as she rounded the corner, she started to rummage through her bag in search of her keys. Suddenly, Mona appeared and shook Crystal's hand, but Crystal was too preoccupied with her missing keys to pay much attention.
As she muttered to herself about having to ask the landlord for a spare key, Crystal finally looked up and was shocked by what she saw. A group of men were moving in and out of her apartment, carrying boxes filled with her belongings. Without a second thought, Crystal rushed inside to confront them.
"What in God's name is going on?" she exclaimed, horrified by the chaos in her apartment.
As one of the men carried out a box of her favorite cups, Crystal snatched it from his hands and yelled at him to leave her things alone. But then she heard a voice calling her name from behind her.
"Ms. Davenport?" the voice said, and when she turned around, she saw that it was a man named Louis Dagger.
"What's going on here?" Mona asked, clearly confused. "Wait, Crystal, are you getting evicted? Oh my gosh, I told you to tell me if you need help with your rent!"
But Louis stepped forward to explain the situation. "My name is Louis Dagger. I work for the Mancini Brothers," he said with a charming smile. "I have orders to help you move to your new home. But as I can see, you were not informed. Typical of them," he muttered under his breath.
Crystal was skeptical. "Do I know you?" she asked, frowning.
Louis chuckled. "Yes, I believe you do. And yes, I am what you think I am," he said, nodding his head.
Crystal was stunned. "I have to make a phone call," she muttered as she stormed out of the room. "Hey! Be careful with that watch, it wasn't cheap!" she shouted at one of the movers as she left.
She pulled out her phone and searched for Matthew's number. Finally finding it, she hit the call button and waited as it rang.
"Little heart," Matthew's voice came through the phone. Even over the phone, Crystal could feel the pull of his deep voice.
