In a heartwarming flashback, we learn about the fateful encounter between the kind couple Indang and Jose and the unconscious Sarah. It all started when Jose stumbled upon Sarah at the bottom of a hill. "Indang! Come here! There's a woman here," he cried out, clearly taken aback by the unexpected sight.
Without hesitation, Indang rushed to her husband's side and beheld the sight of a beautiful, unconscious woman with yellow hair and fair skin. "Is she an American?" she asked, as they both gazed at her in wonder.
Jose, who had already picked up the unconscious Sarah, replied that he believed she was indeed an American. Indang, ever the worrier, voiced her concerns about taking a stranger into their home. "But we can't just leave her here," Jose insisted.
And so, they brought her home and tended to her for a day until she finally woke up, still shaken and scared. But the couple did their best to reassure her that she was in good hands and that they were not bad people. "Don't be afraid, we are here to take care of you," Jose said gently.
Sarah, grateful for their kindness, introduced herself and told them how she had been running away from soldiers when she was shot and fell down the hill. Jose and Indang listened to her story with sadness and empathy, and they decided then and there to take her in as their own.
And so began Sarah's new life with the couple, who welcomed her into their home and treated her like their own child. She was forever grateful to them for taking her in and showing her such kindness, and she knew that she would always have a special place in their hearts.
It had been a year since Sarah had found a new home with the two elderly men, who had taken her in and given her a place to live. Despite the ongoing war between the Filipinos and the Americans, she was happy and had forgotten the pain caused by the conflict.
However, the fighting had only intensified on all sides of the Philippines. The Filipinos were more determined than ever to rid themselves of foreign occupation and gain their independence.
Meanwhile, Sarah continued to thrive in her new life with her adoptive family. She had grown close to the two old men, who treated her as if she were their daughter.
On the other hand, Miguel had been busy expanding the scope of his rebel group, working with the Filipino soldiers to fight against the Americans. Together, they were slowly gaining ground and inching closer towards their goal of liberation. Despite the dangers of fighting in a war, Miguel was more determined than ever to see his people freed from their oppressors.
During a period of intense war in the Philippines, a group of high-ranking American officials gathered to discuss their strategy. There was a debate among them about whether or not they should give in to the Filipinos' wishes to return Manila to them. One American official believed that this would be a better course of action, while another argued that it was impossible and that the loss of Manila would mean they could be kicked out. General James Fulton, who was already a full-fledged general at the time, suggested that they should send more people to destroy the Filipino forces in the west and north instead of giving them what they wanted. However, another official felt that not giving in to their demands would only make them more aggressive and that engaging in peace talks would be more beneficial in terms of planning their strategy moving forward. Ultimately, the group debated the pros and cons of their options, each with their perspective on the situation.
During a heated discussion regarding the ongoing war with the Filipinos, General Buns suggested that providing them with propaganda could be a strategic move. He argued that this would not only improve communication with them but also pave the way for constructive dialogue. However, James expressed his concern that the Filipino forces would only grow stronger with time.
To the surprise of James and the others in the meeting, the governor-general interjected with a carefully considered response. He acknowledged General Buns' suggestion and stated that it was indeed time to seek a resolution through dialogue. He emphasized the importance of negotiating agreements that align with their propaganda and interests. The governor-general also recognized the value of gaining deeper insights into the Filipino perspectives to avoid being deceived. Overall, his response reflected a thoughtful and strategic approach to resolving the ongoing conflict.
That's why America immediately sent a telegram to Filipino officials to prepare a big meeting attended by high officials from both sides. It will be held on the fourth day of November. It will be held at the Laguna capitol.
After receiving the news of the tension between the American officials and Filipino authorities, America immediately sent a telegram to Filipino officials to prepare a big meeting attended by high officials from both sides. The meeting was scheduled to take place on the fourth day of November, at the Laguna capitol.
While everyone agreed to what the governor general wanted, James, one of the soldiers, had a different opinion. He was opposed to the meeting and was determined to stop it from happening. "I cannot allow the wishes of those Filipinos to be fulfilled! I will find a way!" he exclaimed.
James secretly talked to other soldiers and devised a plan to disrupt the meeting. He ordered them to make a significant amount of dynamite and place it around the place where the meeting was to be held. He intended to create chaos and scare everyone away.
This plan, however, was not only illegal but also highly dangerous, as it could have caused significant harm to innocent people
"When the Filipino officials arrive I will blow them all up, they should be together in the same place," said James in a serious voice
The Filipinos sent telegrams and reached a consensus to hold a meeting. However, this decision was not unanimous, and some people did not approve of it. Despite this, in the end, the Filipinos agreed to the peace talks with the Americans.
What remained unknown to them was the scheming of General Armando. He had other intentions and was planning to poison the American officials who were going to attend the meeting. His motive was to win the war at any cost. This information reveals the dangerous and unethical tactics that people might use during wars and the consequences that come with them.
"This is for us to win the war," General Armand said.
That plan spread to a few Filipino residents. Even with the rebel led by Miguel, he has no idea what is important to him is to have a proper discussion between the two parties and if General Amando's plan does happen, he is ready to defend the country.
"Indang, do you know the news, there will be a meeting between Filipinos and Americans," said Jose.
"Really? That's good" answered Indang.
"However, they said that the Filipinos planned to poison other American officials in that meeting," Jose explained.
"Is that so? It's terrible" Indang answered.
Sarah overheard a conversation that troubled her deeply. She learned that an attack was being planned against American soldiers, and she felt a great sense of worry for her countrymen. Although she knew that the planned attack was wrong, she also understood the frustration and anger that some of her fellow countrymen were feeling. Sarah couldn't bear the thought of American soldiers dying, so she decided to take action.
With the meeting between the two sides scheduled for the next day, Sarah knew that she had to act fast. She quickly made her way to the American camp in Laguna, hoping to prevent the attack from happening. Meanwhile, both sides were already present at the meeting place, unaware of what was taking place behind the scenes. Despite the tension and planning on both sides, Sarah remained determined to prevent the tragedy that she knew was looming.
Both General James from America and General Armando from the side of Filipinos are already prepared. They are already prepared for what is coming.
