Loud gunfire woke up the silence of the night, many Filipino soldiers immediately took their weapons and fought against the invading Americans, but they were too prepared, there were too many and there were shooters everywhere.

"The civilians, run away! Make sure the civilians are safe" ordered General Armando.

"Sir! I don't know where the bullets are coming from!" said one of the Filipino Soldiers.

"Sir, even the back exits are guarded by Americans," said a Filipino.

"What are we going to do, sir? There is only one way and it is the one going to Plaridel" said the soldier.

"Just fire your guns and save those who need to be saved, we will run away from here and retreat!" said the General.

Miguel and Tomas arrived later. General Armando immediately ordered them to join the group that would guard the entrance.

"Stop the Americans from coming in. Until the civilians get out, there will be no retreat! Is that clear?" in this shouting voice.

"Yes General," said the two.

The two joined the battle and guarded the opening, they engaged in gunfire with countless Americans, but they did not mind the danger as long as they could do their duty.

One American soldier sneaked in and aimed at Miguel, luckily Tomas was there and shot him.

"Thank you, Tomas," said Miguel.
"There's nothing," Tomas said while walking with his friend.

They fired guns again no matter which corner they asked to fire. Until One by one, their comrades fall. With only Americans on staff, it advanced quickly.

"Miguel! They're going to surround us! Let's get out of here!" Tomas said.

"But Tomas, not all Filipino civilians have been able to leave! We have to make sure they are safe!" Miguel replied while shooting.

As they stood guard at the entrance, Tomas and Miguel suddenly realized that they were the only ones left in the group. They could hear the sound of American voices shouting to come in, but there was no one else around to help them.

Tomas quickly grabbed Miguel's arm and urged him to run away, but Miguel noticed a young Filipino boy still present in the area. The boy was crying, and Miguel couldn't simply abandon him. He bravely crawled over to the boy and spoke to him reassuringly, urging him to come with him.

However, the boy was hesitant and continued to cry, which made Tomas shout out in warning. He reminded Miguel that it was dangerous and they needed to leave before it was too late. But Miguel refused to leave the boy behind, knowing that he would be in grave danger if he stayed.

The boy finally revealed the reason behind his tears. He told Miguel that his parents had been captured by the Americans, which shocked and horrified Miguel. He realized that they needed to act fast if they wanted to save the boy's parents and get out of there alive.

This directed the Americans to abduct the child's parents, even though they hesitated, they immediately went to the two American soldiers who were pulling the couple away.

Miguel continued to shoot at them. Until he got close, he had a gunfight. Using his bare hand he managed to knock out the other soldier until the other one shot at him suddenly the young boy grabbed the American but he fell to the ground. Then the American soldier shot the young boy but then when it was fired, the mother and father of that young boy blocked the bullet causing them to be hit.

The boy screamed at what he saw. This was also Miguel's chance to get his gun and shoot the two Americans.

After that, Miguel approached the couple who seemed to be dying.

"Go ahead, leave us alone," said the boy's father as he struggled to breathe.

"Yes, your father is right, just go away! and maybe the Americans will catch up with you" said his mother.

"I don't want to! I won't leave you! I don't want to!" the young boy cries.

"Tonyo, you have to live. You have to be strong." said his mother again while looking at Miguel who at that time seemed to know what the couple meant. He quickly pulled the child away from his parents. At the same time, the child continues to cry.

Amid the war, a group of American nurses arrived in Manila to assist the American missions in the Philippines. Among these nurses was Sarah Billings, a beautiful young woman with a striking white complexion, blue eyes, and long yellow hair. She comes from a wealthy family in America, but despite that, she chose to heed the call of duty and lend her expertise to helping the Nyan Americans in the war.

Sarah is kind and dedicated to her work, but there is one thing that she does not agree with, and that is the war. However, her passion for helping those in need outweighed her personal beliefs, and she continued her work as a nurse.

One day, as she was going about her duties, an American soldier named James Fulton approached her. James was a tall, muscular man with an arrogant and domineering attitude. He asked Sarah when she arrived, to which she replied softly that it was just the other day.

James then proceeded to comment on Sarah's father and his ammunition business, insinuating that he had allowed his daughter to come to the Philippines to avoid any negative consequences. Sarah felt uncomfortable with James' comments but kept her composure.

James then went on to tell Sarah that they would get married when they returned to America after the war.

"Leave it, Sarah, by the time this war is over, we will be the winners. When we return to America, we will get married" said James again.

Sarah, however, did not feel the same way and made it clear to James that he was not what she wanted.

"But you're not what I want! and you know that" Sarah answered.

James, who had a General for a father, threatened Sarah, telling her that she could not say no to him.

"But you're the one I want! and you know that too? my father is a General of the armed forces, you can't say no, even if you're the daughter of a rich businessman" said James as if threatening.

After James left, Sarah was left dumbfounded by his words. She was conflicted between her duty as a nurse and her personal beliefs, and the pressure from James only added to her worries.

On a certain day, Sarah and her fellow nurses received a telegram that was mentioned in a letter. The telegram was sent by the governor-general, who ordered them to be transferred to Bulacan. Unfortunately, Bulacan was currently facing a serious problem of widespread wars.

Upon hearing this news, Sarah's face turned pale with fear. She realized that she would soon be placed in Plaridel, Bulacan, which was known to be a hotbed of the ongoing war. Her heart was filled with anxiety and uncertainty about what awaited her in the days to come.
