Days blur together at sea. Each one, the same. Each night, I can never sleep. I climb above deck to bend instead. Each day i use as a distraction, standing hurling ice at the Firelord, pretending I'm not enaged to marry him.
When we spar I can allow myself to hate Firelord Zuko with every Fibre of my being.
At least, that's the lie I tell myself every morning when I'm watching Zuko take his shirt off.
Deep down, I'm just as bad as all the other girls in my tribe, drooling over the Firelords torso. I despise myself for it, but behind every insult, every jab, I can tell myself it's because i hate him, but the fickle part of me with no regard for moral integrity or honnour knows the truth; I'm flirting with the Firelord. Whether Zuko knows it or not is besides the point. The point is I want to flirt with the firelord. I'm attracted to the man who's father murder mine in a mass genocide.
Traitor.
My brother should be horrified. I am. I want to erase the first time my face heated when I saw Zuko's stupid chest in that stupid Angi Kai. But I can't. And everyday, it's getting worse. One morning Zuko's going to see the illuminous pink flaring on my cheeks and when he asks why im blushinh, I will have no answer.
Traitor, traitor, traitor, traitor... The word runs on repeat through my mind, every minute of every day. I sit down at the table with the son of my families murder, dinning on national dishes served from imperial pickings.
I'm worried Zuko's has started to notice. Every meal he eyes my plate, but says nothing. What is there to say? He understands my situation. What disgusts me the most is, despite my horrifing attraction to Firelord, I'm too much of a coward to even admit it to myself. Because underneath the physical attraction i may or may not I feel towards Zuko, I'm terrified of something even deeper below the surface...
That I might be falling for the Firelord and there's nothing I can do to stop it...
