Chapter 63
Lisa
Even when I try to relax and forget about how this morning has gone so far, I can't. One of the reasons, actually the only reason, is Seul-gi. Lucky, she had stopped with the 'You fucked my best friend! Weh!', but we all know our dear Seul-gi, right? So, we're aware that she has found other ways to annoy me. Well, she did. I pick up the phone for the ninety-ninth time and scream at it "Cut it out, Seul-gi! I'm sick of you!"
"I'm sorry, please!" She struggles to utter, but I don't need any of her apologies. I've heard enough of those to fire her exactly because of them! Yet another reason to get rid of her! Yay! "No!" I slam the phone back to the dialling pad, only to hear it ringing again. I see what game she's playing. I wouldn't be surprised if she found a way to monitor my computer and follow everything that I do. Currently, I'm trying to fill out the form for firing her, so what better way than to constantly disturb me during it, huh? "What!" Seul-gi's tongue stumbles over her teeth, something I am very familiar with, but unlike me, she manages to say a few words "Lisa..."
"It's Ms. Manoban for you!" I scream again and hang up on her again. Like a tired person that's been fighting for survival, I lean back against my chair and eventually smile to myself "Hah, got her with this one!" I hear someone knocking on my door and my sixth sense tells me it's most likely the person to possess traits of my secretary, so instead of dealing with her, I yell from across the room "Get lost!" Moment later, I see the lock turning, until it unlocks and the door opens. When I see who it is, I... well, it's just not Seul-gi. "Lisa?" Mr. Yang walks in, leaving my face to drain of all colour and my lungs collapsing. Like a child, I get up from my chair in a haste, stand completely still and all that's missing is a big army salute "Mr. Yang!" He slowly and carefully walks in, probably trying to see if I'll tell him to get lost again "Is everything alright?" I smile sheepishly. Like, yeah, all is fucking great, man! "Yes, sir!" Mr. Yang doesn't let his gaze drop or turn it anywhere else, until I finally get it what he's expecting from me "It's been a rough morning, sir."
"Rough morning?" He asks, not believing me, not in the slightest! I have to keep it cool and stay calm. Both Mr. Yang and Mr. Park have never seen me freaking out, panicking or losing my shit. I was always the hardworking one with her goals straight and mind set. It's why they gave me all the promotions and why they trusted me. If I started to show signs of instability, I could suffer greatly. Maybe I'd lose my job, or I wouldn't be trusted anymore. Both is a big deal and something I don't want it to happen. I sigh and tell him the truth. About what threw me off my balance "Sir, I know I haven't mentioned anything before but it's Kang Seul-gi. She and I, we can't work together." Mr. Yang's eyes narrow my way and it takes me a few moments to realise what that sounded like. His eyes jump to my desk and inspect it, probably looking for any signs of scratch marks or just imagining me and Seul-gi here. Both possibilities make me want to throw up greatly. "No! Sir!" I quickly jump to my defence, before his mind started to believe that "I'd never mix my work and private life."
"What is the problem then? She's young and bright girl. A perfect fit for your working persona." It's almost painful to see how much he believes in me and Seul-gi. It was probably Mr. Yang who hired her and it's disturbing and complementing at the same time. He wanted to find me a perfect fit, he just screwed it up real bad. I try to be as diplomatic as possible. I don't want to start calling her names, I mean I want to, but it wouldn't prove to do me any good. "Sir, I don't doubt in her capabilities." Though, I do! "The truth is, we have hard time getting along and she doesn't show any respect for me at all. She's pretty straightforward, maybe a bit too much, and even though she did handle some documents very professionally, she doesn't do most of her work. She barely remembers to follow my schedule and she's very intruding." Mr. Yang listens to me and pays close attention, but the more I say about what's the problem with that sick fuck, the more his smile becomes visible. "Are you describing her or yourself, Lisa?" What?! "Excuse me?"
