Chapter 5
"Well don't you look happy," Lisa commented with a small little smirk. "Don't you tease me," Rosé said blushing bright red.
"Jisoo really did a good job then," Lisa said. "I should congratulate her." "Don't you dare!" Rosé squeaked.
Lisa laughed. "I'm joking, any alpha would take a comment like that as a challenge."
"I highly doubt Jisoo would take it as a challenge," Rosé said snorting. "Nor do I think anyone would challenge her for me."
"Well I just disagree with that," Lisa said.
"Yeah, because we haven't tried to pick up female alphas for me before," Rosé deadpanned. "I lost my virginity at 35 I think that says enough."
"Chipmunk..."
"No no don't try to wrap me up with your sweet words," Rosé said laughing. "Now come on. We have a staff meeting."
"Sweet words? Me?" Lisa said innocently.
"Why don't we talk about your step-sister?" Rosé said. "Are you really gonna do all the things on her bucket list?"
"I mean not everything," Lisa said. "She wants to jump out of a plane."
Rosé burst out laughing. "Of course she does! Why not jump out of a plane, it's not like she has a dying heart or anything?"
"She's really cheerful too," Jennie said. "Never seen anything like it. I have seen a lot of dying and terminal patients and I have never seen one who's so...positive."
"Not everyone fears death," Rosé said shrugging. "Or maybe she just came to terms with it."
"I suppose living with that your whole life makes it easier to deal with it," Lisa said. "If you grew up knowing you would die young then it wouldn't be any different than being 98 and dying then."
"Right," Rosé said nodding. "Though that's really sad."
"I don't want her to die."
"We want that for everyone, it's why we became doctors."
"It's more than that," Lisa said. "She's like a ray of sunshine in the dark. I feel comfortable with her and I enjoy her company. She's the only person other than you who I can talk to freely."
Rosé gave her a calculating look. "Lalisa Manoban, do you like her?" "W-what!? No of course not."
"Oh you got it bad."
Lisa blushed. "I do NOT!"
"Ohh yes you do!"

"Jichu! Hello!" Jennie greeted motioning for her to come inside.
"Hi Jenduek," Jisoo said walking into the apartment and setting down her
bag.
"Question," Jennie said as Jisoo slid the blood pressure cup on her arm
and started taking her vitals. "Is your mate's name Kang Seulgi?"
Jisoo looked at her shocked. "What!? How in the world did you know
that?"
"Oh wow what a small world!" Jennie cried. "Yesterday I was telling Lisa
how I met Seulgi in a hospital in Argentina. She was there chasing after a mob guy and got shot. Then she said she overheard that you have a cop mate named Seulgi, so I thought maybe it's the same person!"
"That's an insane coincidence!" Jisoo said laughing. "It's definitely the same person. She actually told me the story but I had no idea it was you!"
"Yeah? What did she say?"
"She had been undercover for seven months, we were only dating back then but knew we were mates already," Jisoo said. "She ended up getting the guy at the end but she said that her time in the hospital was the best she ever had. Did you really prank the nurses?"
"Oh yeah we did," Jennie said laughing. "Best prank ever was when we set all the machines that weren't being used by patients to beep really loud all at the same time. They panicked so bad I laughed so hard I cried and then my heart rate went up."
Jisoo laughed. "Well now I'm kinda scared to be your nurse."
"Don't worry, I'd never prank you," Jennie said. "After all, I do have some loyalty to Seulgi."
Jisoo laughed. "Are you kidding? Seulgi would prank me in a heart beat."
"Yeah, I can see her doing that," Jennie said. "So how is she doing? Are you guys still together?"
"Oh yes, she's my girl," Jisoo said motioning to the mating mark on her throat. "But she is undercover now and is constantly undercover so we have a more open relationship."
"Open how?" Jennie asked looking interested.
"Like sleeping with other people."
"Ooh, I read about that in a Manhwa," Jennie said with wide eyes. "Is it
like a throuple?"
Jisoo laughed. "You're just curious and blunt aren't you?"
"Eh I'm dying what's the point of having decorum?"
"You have a point," Jisoo said laughing. "Well I don't mind sharing. I'm
not in a throuple. We are the main couple and then we just satisfy our needs with others."
"You're candid I like you," Jennie said. "Can you be my best friend?" "Sure," Jisoo smiled.
"Great I've never had a best friend before," Jennie said. "Let's do each
other's nails!"
"I'm kinda on duty Jenduek, I have to keep going with my rounds at the
hospital."
"Tonight then, after your shift."
"Okay."
"Well then if my vitals are good, I can start watching TV right? I'm gonna
do a Harry Potter marathon!"
"That sounds great but you're taking your meds first."
"Aww, yeah that."
"Come on," Jisoo helped Jennie stand. "Meds and then I'll get you all set
up on the couch with your monitors, life alert, and food yeah?" ~~~~~~~~~~
Lisa arrived to the house at nearly 11pm after being slammed with back
to back surgeries. A major accident on the freeway had all the OR's booked and the emergency room hectic. She lost four patients and three others were still in critical condition. She wanted to get a drink with Rosé but she was still stuck in a super complicated neuro surgery, Lisa doubted she'd get any sleep tonight.
She arrived at the apartment and ready to sleep when she heard talking from the living room.
"Jichu, you didn't pop in as often as Irene did."
