RAIN POV:

The next day, I reached school and spotted Sky and First waiting for me at the gate.
When they saw me, they both waved, grinning.

As soon as I reached them, they grabbed me by the wrist and practically dragged me toward the lockers.

First: “We’re getting late, Rain! Hurry, or Sir will scold us!”

Rain: “Can you guys please give me a second to put my things away first?!”

They made exaggerated faces at me, and I couldn’t help but laugh.
They’re so funny. I really got lucky with these two, I thought, smiling to myself.

While I was closing my locker, I remembered something.

Rain: “By the way, I wanted to ask you guys something.”

Sky: “Yeah? What is it?”

Rain: “The guy I sat next to yesterday—what’s his name?”

First: “Oh, him? He’s Phayu. An alpha.”

Phayu.
Storm and Rain… sounds kind of perfect, I thought, smiling to myself.

As I was lost in my thoughts, I saw him walk into the locker area.
Even in the morning light, he looked unreal — calm, confident, and effortlessly handsome.

And then our eyes met.

For a second, I forgot how to breathe.
He was looking at me like he could see right through me — and my heart decided to stop cooperating.

Before I could move or say anything, he stepped closer, stopping right in front of me.

Phayu: “Move. You’re in my way.”

I quickly shifted aside, still frozen, as he brushed past me.
That’s when I realized we’d already reached our classroom.

Sky: (muttering) “Asshole. As always.”

Rain: “Why did you call him that?”

Sky: “He’s just… like that. A cold jerk. Always in fights, sometimes even bullies other students.”

I frowned. I didn’t like hearing that. Maybe he had his reasons.
People are so quick to judge. Mean humans, I sighed inwardly.

First: “Come on, let’s go before the teacher yells.”

We went inside, and I walked toward my seat — the one beside Phayu.
He was already there, staring out the window.

As I sat down, he turned to me, and to my surprise, he spoke.

Phayu: “Hi. I’m Phayu. You’re Rain, right?”
He held out his hand.

Rain: “Yes, I’m Rain. Nice to meet you.”

I took his hand. It was a little rough, but his grip was gentle — as if he was afraid he might break me if he held on too tightly.

Phayu: “How’s school so far? Better than your old one?”

Rain: “I guess so. People here seem pretty friendly.”

He still hadn’t let go of my hand, and the butterflies in my stomach were doing cartwheels.
When he finally realized, he pulled back quickly — a faint blush tinting his cheeks.

Did he just blush? My brain short-circuited.
Was my mind playing tricks on me, or did this big alpha really blush because of me?

Phayu: “Glad to hear that,” he said, turning back to the window.

His voice is so deep and calm… it feels like it could command anyone.

I tried focusing on class, but every now and then, I caught myself stealing glances at him.
Okay, Rain. Focus on the lesson, not on this dangerously hot alpha, I told myself.
