As Edgeshot's team waited outside the Gunga Mountain Villa, X-23 prepared herself for the coming battle. After a moment, Edgeshot gives the order to attack. As the Heroes charge at the Villa, Cementoss creates an opening that splits the front of the building open using his Cement manipulation Quirk. Without hesitation, X-23 charges in and begins cutting through the Villains with her claws. The Villains inside quickly panic as they muster up a counter attack.
Edgeshot: Not one Villain gets away! They're trained and ready to die for their cause! If any escape, then they'll be free to cause terror somewhere else! This is our chance to end this here and now!
As the Heroes attack, X-23 charges in and attacks the Villains inside. The Villains were quickly overpowered by X-23.
X-23: You bastards are going down!
As X-23 continues to fight alongside the other Heroes, a Villain with a Berserker Quirk charges in and tackles X-23 into the next room. As X-23 fights off the Villain, she locks eyes with the Villain.
Berserker Villain: This is our turf, you freak! I'll tear you apart for breaking in here!
X-23: You picked the wrong time to pick a fight with me, bub!
X-23 unsheathes her claws and charges at the Villain and attacks him with her claws. The Villain then parries one of X-23's attacks and lands a punch to X-23's abdomen. He then grabs X-23 by the head and slams her to the ground. X-23 then proceeds to kick the man in the face and quickly gets back on her feet as the Villain staggers.
X-23: This ends now!
X-23 charges in and attacks the Villain with her claws. The Villain attempts to defend himself, but X-23 proved too fast for him. In an attempt to even the odds, the Berserker Villain grabs a vial of Trigger and drinks it. The Villain screams as the Trigger takes effect.
Berserker Villain: NOW I BREAK YOU!
The Berserker Villain charges at X-23 and lands several devastating strikes on her. It wasn't long before a group of thugs arrived.
Thug #1: Get her!
Thug #2: Waste the bitch!
As the thugs swarm X-23, the Clawed Hero was able to fight through the group of thugs, taking them down with ease. She even dodges and weaves to get the Berserker Villain to take out several thugs.
Berserker Villain: STAND STILL SO I CAN CRUSH YOU!
As the Berserker Villain continues to throw punches at X-23, X-23 rolls out of the way. She then rams her claws into the Villain's chest, landing strikes in non lethal areas. The Villain screams in pain as X-23 knees the Villain in the face, knocking him out. As X-23 emerged victorious, clapping was heard.
???: So much rage.....just like your father.
X-23 turned around and saw Romulus approaching her. She didn't recognize him.
There's a reason why you've spent your life watching the sheep, Laura Kinney --and it's not because you're a shepherd. It's because you're a wolf.
X-23: Who the hell are you?!
Romulus: Your brother told me all about you. I must say, I'm impressed with your performance.
Upon hearing this, X-23 was taken aback by this. She popped out her claws and became hostile towards Romulus. Romulus showed no concern.
X-23: So you must be Romulus. Daken mentioned your name when we last fought.
Romulus: Your brother has proven to be a worthy acolyte. Instead of being content of living in his father's shadow, Akihiro sought a greater purpose.
The more Romulus talked, the more enraged she became. Romulus could feel the anger seething in X-23.
Romulus: You have the same spark of potential as Akihiro has. He believes that attempting to bring you into the fold is pointless, but I am not convinced. You are a predator, Laura Kinney. You were created from Wolverine's DNA to be the perfect weapon of mankind. But you have risen above that. You have transcended your original design. Now you like your brother are a apex predator. The top of the food chain. Your father may act like you are just as much of a shepherd as him, but we both know that is is a lie.
As Romulus said that, the ground began to shake. Romulus simply chuckled.
Romulus: You need not remain in your father's shadow, Laura. You could be like your brother and follow your own path. The age of Heroes is coming to an end. It's time for evolution to take it's course once more.
X-23: I won't let that happen!
As X-23 said this, the ground shook once more. It wasn't long before a piece of the ceiling fell on them. X-23 jumped out of the way, causing the path to Romulus to be blocked. Romulus looks at X-23 with a smile on his face.
Romulus: Till we meet again....
With that, X-23 could only watch as Romulus escaped. After that, she ran outside the building to see Edgeshot and his team pushing the Villains back. As the battle intensifies, shaking was felt as Gigantomachia crashes through the floor of the villa. What followed was a stream of blue flames. X-23 herself was barely able to dodge a stream of blue flames that flew towards her. As she does so, X-23 takes down a group of Villains trying to escape.
X-23: You will not escape me!
As X-23 continues to fight the remaining Villains, it was clear to her that victory was near. Suddenly, X-23 glanced to see Gigantomachia running in the direction to where Yaoyorozu and the others were.
X-23: Eijiro.....
X-23 was conflicted about her next move. While she felt obligated to stay and fight the rest of the Villains, she couldn't stand by and allow Kirishima to face whatever threat Gigantomachia posed. After giving it thought, she decided to split off from the Raid team to help Yaoyorozu and the others fend off Gigantomachia, feeling that she was no longer needed at the Mountain Villa raid. But what she didn't realize was that events were unfolding that would send ripples across all of Hero Society.
