chapter four : good music and good kisses

" hey guys can we go through breezeblocks one more time ? "
I asked the band members .

" christian its going to be up to you and me , since its an acoustic cover , so take it slow with the drums okay ? " i talked straight to christian , the hot as hell drummer .

" yes Ma'am " he smirked .

" okay , lets give it one last shot , i still have the rest of the songs to practice with you guys "

" hey don't sweat it . You're doing great .
You've got an awesome voice so no worries , we got you're back " dereck encouraged , nudging me with of his base .

So just like that we spent all the afternoon drinking beer , practicing and trowing jokes every now and then .

Daniel was also there , he didn't leave my side .
He would sit down in front of me down the stage and throw a comment or two about my attempts .

However the song i chose as surprise for him , is the one im worried about , since im not going to practice it with him around . I told the guys about it and they are up to it . And they assured me not to worry about it.

They all seem layed back , having fun and enjoying themselves like there's nothing going on .
Where as for me , im a wreck , im nervous and sweaty and worried .
I have never done anything like this before . I always tried my best to lay low and not be the centre of attention .
But here i am now , thanks to my mercyless best friend who threw me to the lions .
But seeing how layed back everyone is , i can't help but feel like maybe i'm over reacting .
All i need to do is just focus on daniel in the crowd , or close my eyes and imagine myself singing in the shower like he suggested .

I can do this !

The last try was successful , i did a great job singing it and managing to not miss a note while playing it .
I grinned like a fool but i earned myself some claps and cheers .

The rest of the afternoon passed by practicing and enjoying good company and good music .

Daniel informed that he's goin to grab us something to eat before the night gets strated cause we're sure as hell starving.

I took the time while he's out to try playing the song lonely boy and it came out great with every note , drum , kick and clap .
It's amazing how that song sends good vibes .

We decided to take the rest of the time a break to take a rest and calm ourselves before the real thing this evening .
So i took that opportunity to check my phone .
I answered some text cara left me .
And i can't help but wish that she and Ethaniel could have come tonight . They live like two hours away by driving and i know how busy they can get . So i just dropped it not letting it affect my now , stable mood .

In the process , i decided to give Alex a call . He haven't even tried to text me since the last phone call .
But helas , i decided to be the better one and check up on him .
I remember clearly telling him about tonight and i told how much it would mean to me to have him there . He said he'll be there but now i doubt his promise .
The phone kept ringing and ringing , and meanwhile i spotted daniel walking towards me swaying a bag of food in my face . My face lit up , and my tummy grumbled causing danny to chuckle .
I like it how he's always right on time .

I gave alex one last ring which went straight to voicemail and i couldn't help the frown on my face . I'm really disappointed .

" is that Alex you were calling . " he asked looking at me with serious features .

I nodded in reply with a sigh .

His eyes softened and he placed both his hands on my shoulders .
" he'll make it , don't worry about it Lina" .
