Chapter #10 Under The Moonlight (Pt.1)

Your POV

It's been a month since the day I was controlled by a strange light. Rin and Jaken are convinced that it was all me but I have no powers. I'm just an average human. Sesshomaru hasn't mentioned a word about it either. I feel like maybe I'm being kept in the dark about something but I trust him. If he is keeping it a secret then it could be that he is trying to protect me. Or maybe it could be my worst fear. He's using me. I didn't want to think that way about Lord Sesshomaru. "Come with me."

I had been washing some clothes while Rin and Jaken slept. It was late and I still haven't gotten use to the environment here so I was washing clothes to ease my anxiety. However my heart raced when Sesshomaru asked me to follow him. I stopped what I was doing immediately and blindly followed him like I always did. He brought me over to an opening in the woods. I pushed passed the bushes and stared up at the moon. "It's beautiful."

Sesshomaru sat in front of a tree, resting his back on it as he also looked up at the moon. We made eye contact but he quickly shut his eyes. I cautiously made me way over to him and sat beside him. "Why did you bring me here?" He said nothing as he pulled me closer. His fluffy scarf looking thing felt so comfortable and his warmth sent shivers down my spine. "Sleep. There is nothing to fear." I was going to relax till I felt something crawling on my legs. "L-l-l-Lord Sesshomaru. Help meeeee." His eyes widened and he covered his mouth quickly turning away. I only saw his shoulders shake. Was he laughing at me!? "Lord Se-Sesshomaru please-the bug is crawling on me. It feels like it has a million legs. I'm scared to look, get it off."

He grabbed the bug crawling on me and I accidentally saw it. "How can you be scared of such a thing?" He held it up revealing it to be a centipede. My blood went cold. "That-that was on me!?" I wanted to vomit but Sesshomaru's amused expression made me blush. "No way. Lord Sesshomaru are you making fun of me? Bugs are terrifying. You might be used to them but I'm not." I pouted feeling a bit childish and embarrassed. He tossed the centipede far away with a satisfied expression. "You can fight off demons but draw the line at insects. A strange woman indeed."

I was shocked. This man is mocking me! "Alright Lord Sesshomaru. What are you afraid of then!?" His face grew serious as he scoffed, giving me side eye. "I'm afraid of nothing." I smirked and yelled. "Boo!" Making him jump a little. He was taken aback but smiled when I laughed. "Even the powerful enchanting Lord Sesshomaru is afraid of something." I teased. "Enchanting?" He questioned. Oh crap. I said too much. "I mean-" Shit what do I say!? I blushed uncontrollably at the look in his eyes. Why does he have to look through my soul every time he looks at me?

I hesitated trying to think of what to say next but to my surprise he had grabbed a small bunch of my hair placing a kiss at the tip. My mind went blank as he looked into my eyes with such warmth. I placed my hand on his cheek and caressed his soft youthful skin. Am I falling for Lord Sesshomaru?

Sesshomaru POV

The eyes of a woman in love. My half brother Inuyasha's mother looked at father with these same kind of eyes. Is this my fate? Become enamored with a human woman? My father was once a great well known demon only to die protecting a human and here I am doing the same. However...

Now I understand him. I desire to treasure this woman. Her life is short but I crave to be apart of every second. I am ok with dying as long as you get to live longer...what am I saying? Who have I become? I no longer recognize even my own thoughts. Was it not power that I sought after?

Mayumi leaned in closer and placed her lips upon mine. I closed my eyes and kissed her in return. I could not fight this feeling forming in my heart. I desired her more than the power I once craved. Everything I strived for, even the Tetsaiga, all of it seems pointless now. How confusing...
