Ballister: Maybe he gave up, Nimona.

They hadn't seen any new shifters tracking them. Despite being hours away, Ambrosius had managed to find them at their new site. He hadn't tried to force Ballister back at any chance, which Nimona wouldn't have given him anyway, as she stuck with Ballister the whole time, not wanting him to be taken by anyone again. Kayden had apologized again for letting the human take him and Nimona had apologized for getting mad at the situation and taking it out on everyone.

MEANWHILE, WITH OLIVIA, MIRA AND LYRA...

With three unhappy female warriors around him intimidated Alex, and he didn't like not being in control of any of them. His son hadn't backed him up for the first time in ever. They had power.

Lyra: You did WHAT to my niece?!

Mira: My daughter is alive. You drove her away, you dumb son of a--!

Nolan: Whoa, whoa! Mom, why is there yelling?

Mira: With all disappointment that you deserve, son. Why the fuck is it wrong for me to cuss when your father's every other sentence is a sling of swears if he isn't trying to manipulate you outright. Sit down or go somewhere else and brainstorm how you're going to apologize to every person that you've hurt. Your sister, especially.

Olivia: Kayden, too. You two have a lot of apologizing and changing to do. Especially you, Alex.

Alex: Fuck you, Olivia! I'll never change and neither will Nolan and I ever need to. Right?

Nolan saw his dad, but shook his head. His mom, Olivia, Nimona and his aunt Lyra were right.

Nolan: Enough, Dad. I've said and done some terrible things because of how you raised me. I knew that they were wrong, and I own that, but they were because my own father taught me that they were okay and it was alright to treat people the way you do. I'm going to find Kayden and my sister and make things right. Hopefully, Mom and Aunt Lyra will get to be in her life, too. She's so much better than you as a person and I hate and apologize that it took me this long to see how wrong it all is. I hope Mom leaves you and Lyra and Olivia take over. How's Lucas, Aunt Liv?

Olivia: He's great. So happy that YOU realized how wrong your behavior is and hopes that maybe you two can be close again. He'd be a better role model for you than your father.

Lyra: That's no lie. I see why and totally understand you wanting to leave him that day, Mira.

Mira: Yes, so I'll be taking the kids, obviously, if Nimona wants to have me as her mom. I hope that she's okay, wherever she fled him

Olivia: Nolan, why don't you tell your mother how Nimona was when you met her again. Your aunt and I will continue with your dad's lecture.

Nolan gets his mom's attention and describes how strong, amazing and clever she grew up to be on her own...and about Ballister and the ensuing tantrum Alex threw.

Mira: Over two millennia old and he still acts like an immature brat. I love you and Nimona, but I never loved your father. His family arranged with mine for us to be mates because he couldn't attract his love.

Nolan: Who?

Mira: Dalia. She was too high-status for her parents to arrange a date for her and who would choose to be mates with your father, though I got you two from him, that's really as good as it got.

Nolan: Wow. You really wanted to leave him, right?

Mira: Yeah, but he threatened to take you and Nimona when you were little, so I had to stay. Then, when that day came, he left me to those villagers that took me while he took you. I never knew what happened to Nimona with Gloreth. He shoved Lyra into the mob running towards you and him from what she told me. We can only hope that this Ballister is better and humans have gotten past their fears since. After we reunited, we continued searching for you two and your father alongside each other. We never expected to find EVERY other shifter in the village here and then some. Except for Kayden. You need to say sorry to him. He was a good match for you.

Nolan: (blushes, profusely) Mom!

Mira: What? I'm not homophobic like your father that made you break up with him. And urged you to turn his parents against him.

Nolan: Well, to be honest, his parents were already homophobic, so they and Dad were friends since forever. I just had to break up with him where they could witness it and then Dad outed him when they were confused why I was ending our friendship.
