We Could Go Anywhere (Nimona)

Part 6

Ambrosius couldn't believe his eyes, but there it was, caught on camera. Ballister escapes over the wall and leaves into the great wilderness beyond. Didn't he know the dangers? Wasn't he the most cautious of them? Of course, it was impossible to miss the bright pink-haired delinquent accompanying him. What was her plan? To hurt him while she had him over the wall?!

Meanwhile, Diego...

Diego had decided to forgive Jackson. Let him earn the role of 'boyfriend' again. Their argument the night before Ballister kidnapped him really screwed him up, still, but just maybe they could work through it.

Ballister and Nimona...

The closer Ballister and Nimona got to the mountain, the more at ease Nimona felt for whatever reason. Their speed was largely in part due to her transforming into a horse and carrying Ballister on her back as she galloped for hours, stopping to eat, drink, and rest along the way. They'd passed a couple of mountains, but neither really felt like the one. They were so far north of the kingdom by now that they hoped Ambrosius would give up. Now, they were at the base and made camp. Nimona had gone off to gather more firewood, and Ballister was alone in the peaceful lap of nature. Suddenly, he heard a wolf snarling. This was odd for Nimona. He turned around and saw a dark blue wolf instead of a pink one. He backed up slowly, but the wolf tracked his every move, stalking towards him, still snarling. It started running. Ballister yelled as he braced, the wolf launching toward him.

Ballister: Nimona!

While his eyes were blocked, he heard a yelp and a thud. Nimona, also in the form of a wolf, had leaped at the unfamiliar attacker and collided with him, midair, tackling him to the ground. She pinned the other wolf and growled fiercely. Ballister opened his eyes and stood beside them. Nimona transformed back and stood protectively in front of Ballister. Then, the unthinkable happened. The wolf also stood and, in a flash of light, was replaced by a teen-looking male with dark blue hair and eyes. Nimona and Ballister were both shocked, but that didn't stop Nimona from protecting Ballister.

Nimona: Who are you? Why are you attacking my dad?

Ballister: (eyes beaming with pride)

Mysterious Boy: Your dad? That's a regular human! They're dangerous! Who are you and what are you doing with him?!

Nimona: I asked you first!

Mysterious Boy: You're on our territory!

Nimona: 'Our'?
