After getting Nolan examined by a proper doctor, they learned that Nimona had broken two of his ribs on his right side with her force of the tackle. Also, Kayden throwing him over his own shoulder had caused some mild bruising, but nothing as serious as the rib thing. Nimona had been required to defend and look after herself for over a thousand years. When they finally got to be taken to Ballister, Nimona and Kayden stayed between them and him as a buffer. Same as when Kayden had joined them. Ballister was psyched to meet more people like Nimona. Especially her mother. Ambrosius was having a crisis over how his lineage had twisted the vision on these seemingly pretty peaceful shifters that had done nothing wrong. Nimona's Bio mother really enjoyed speaking to Ballister. She was more on edge of his chosen mate, but that was more of him being less sociable more than the other things she felt.

LATER, AFTER SETTLING GUESTS IN AND INTRODUCTIONS...

Nolan: So, Kayden, can I...talk to you?

Kayden: If it's about getting back together, I still can't get over the immense pain over what you did. Turning my parents against me. I would've been free to be with you when we were both adults in a few months anyway! We both would have been!

Nolan: I wouldn't have been! My dad was the Chief of our village! Yes, I went too far with so many people, but I am sorry for that! You don't have to get back together with me or even accept my apology, but please, remember that Nimona saw that I was trying to change.

Kayden: After all that horseshit, you expect me to believe a word that you say? My parents kicked me out. I had to learn how to survive on my own because of what you and your father had said. As much as it all shattered (blushes) my heart, I couldn't stop myself from loving you and hoping that we could work it out. (grasps his arms)

Nolan: Please, let me prove to you that I want to be your mate.

Kayden doesn't stop the taller young man from getting closer. Their lips unite sweetly and he can't resist returning the action, as he'd wanted to for so long. He'd give him another chance. He'd have to work towards being his mate. Nolan knew that and that this wasn't a free pass ticket. He'd have to earn being a brother to Nimona and a mate to Kayden as well.

Some months later...

Mira wasn't too possibly sure yet, but she was having strange affections for a female human that she'd met randomly one day and was friends with. The woman new of her abilities and had introduced her to her own family. Her three young children and...her husband. After getting her own heart broken by Dalia when she approached her with the same feelings that she recognized as being attracted to women and the whole Alex fiasco, she was afraid that she had become unlovable and that her former mate and father of her children had been right. She chided herself. Dalia didn't want her because she was just like Alex, in hindsight. It was her own fault that she hadn't specified which of the siblings she was attracted to to her open-minded parents and they'd mistakenly matched her with Alex, thinking that he was who she wanted. Then, they died a few months before she gave birth to Nolan. In truth, she still had feelings for Lyra after all these centuries. She loved having her kids and wouldn't trade them for anything, but had fantasized raising them without Alex, but Lyra, instead.

Tower...

A black cat looked up at Nimona with fearful, human-like eyes. Nimona could stare back at it, eyes blinking, incredulously at the sight before her. Kayden was frozen in a state of petrified shock before he reanimated to turn to her.

Kayden: Um, what just happened?!

Nimona: How the fuck should I know?! This isn't supposed to be possible! How the fuck am I supposed to figure out how to explain this to Dad?!
