A Day of Secrets

The clock was ticking—only two years left until Arthur's return. Time seemed to fly by as I kept training, growing stronger, and staying focused on my goals. But today was different. Tabitha had decided to take Mom, Ellie, and me out for a special day. We were going shopping with Priscilla and her children, Kathyln and Curtis, who would play significant roles in the events to come. It wasn't often we had time for a leisurely day out, so I decided to enjoy it.

"Hey, Tom, should I come with you too?" Auro asked as I got ready for the day.

"It's up to you. I won't force you," I replied.

"Fine, I'll go then. I have to be there for my little princess," Auro said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Whatever," I muttered, rolling my eyes.

Before I could leave, Ellie knocked on the door, calling, "Big broder, mama said go eat breakfast, come now."

I smiled. "She's so cute, isn't she?"

"Totally agree with that," Auro replied.

"What are your plans for today, Tom?" Mom asked as I finished breakfast.

"Just some training," I replied, not wanting to elaborate further. There was no reason to burden them with my responsibilities.

"Do you mind keeping an eye on Ellie while I'm out?" Mom asked, glancing at me.

"Okay, Mom," I said.

After breakfast, Mom left with Dad, and I found myself alone with my sister. The house felt quieter than usual, almost empty.

"Something feels off about this," Auro said, sensing the same thing I did.

"Yes, you're right," I agreed, scanning the surroundings.

"Big broder, I want to play," Ellie said, her voice breaking my focus.

"Play, you say? I think I have an idea," I said, plotting a fun diversion for her. I wasn't going to leave her bored.

"Are you going to use that?" Auro asked with a hint of concern.

"I'm afraid I have to," I said. "But it'll be fine."

Although it was supposed to be a secret, I couldn't resist the urge to create a distraction. I summoned two clones to stay at home while Ellie and I ventured to the Bat Cave. She was eager to try out the new activities I had built for her.

"Big broder, look, look!" Ellie shouted, pointing at a slider I had installed in the cave.

"Wanna go there?" I asked, amusement in my voice.

"Yes, yes!" Ellie cheered, her face lighting up with excitement.

We spent hours in the cave, playing games and having fun. Ellie seemed to love every minute of it—sliding down the slider, climbing the wall, bumping around in the bumper cars, and spinning on the wheel. I stayed by her side the entire time, watching her enjoy herself.

"Big broder, I'm hungry," Ellie finally said, her energy starting to wane.

"Okay, little Ellie. Should we go to Gojo?" I asked, already thinking about where to get lunch.

"Yes, yes, Gojo!" she squealed, her hunger taking over.

Instead of walking or using a cart, we decided to take the newly built tempus warps. I had modified the machines for extra security, ensuring they were accessible only for the Dicathen model—no Alacryan interference allowed. After a quick warp, we arrived at Gojo's restaurant.

We had a great meal, laughing and chatting before heading back home. Once we arrived, I dismissed the clones and sat down to rest for a while. Ellie, exhausted from the day's activities, quickly fell asleep.
