It was now Jasmine's turn to introduce herself. She did so without showing the slightest expression, always maintaining that mysterious vibe around her.

Of course, she didn't reveal her last name; long story short, she wasn't proud of it. As the conversation flowed, the others displayed clear signs of astonishment about my brother and me.

"I swear, they keep getting younger by the minute! What are you, a kid? And on top of that, a Quadrielemental? Hey, kiddo, don't expect us to believe that!" Mira exclaimed, her tone a mix of disbelief and sarcasm.

"She isn't usually this offensive; don't mind her. What she meant to say is—ah, you look like a kid," Ragnar added, gesturing toward me with a friendly grin.

"Same applies to you," I shot back, directing my comment at Arthur.

Should we demonstrate our abilities or what? And why was that woman so straightforward? If she didn't like us, why make it so obvious? I thought to myself, trying to suppress my irritation. The last woman kept her silence. Her name was Sylvia, I think?

"I can show you what I can do if you want. You'll be surprised, I can confirm that," I said, suppressing a sarcastic grin.

"If it'll do, I'm down," Arthur replied, his cold demeanor echoing years of loneliness spent atop a throne, something he could project on command.

"Okay then, I'll face—ahhh—you!" Mira said, pointing at me, taking her time and appearing relaxed.

She doesn't know what's in store for her. Spoiler alert: things are about to get interesting! And yes, I just broke the fourth wall there. What can I say? I like keeping you all on your toes! "Then I will be facing you, Note. I will go easy on you," Ragnar said, at least respectful about it.

"Guys, are you sure this is a good idea? We're just getting started; we have to save our energy for the beasts," Sylvia cautioned, trying to be as convincing as possible.

I didn't think she was entirely convinced, though, was she? Alright, we'll get to the action part then.

"Tom, Arthur, are you sure about this?" Jasmine asked, her tone laced with doubt.

"We'll try to make it quick. They won't acknowledge us if we don't show them what they want," Arthur answered, a well-formulated response if you asked me.

"I know you're strong, guys, but don't go too hard on yourselves," Lilia whispered to us. Ragnar, my teammate, took his stance opposite me. He placed his shield with one hand and the warhammer in his other; his huge body complemented the huge entrance of the cavern.

The huge shield announced the start of the fight, as I tried to watch what Arthur was doing on the other side of the entrance, but I couldn't keep my eyes away for a second.

Ragnar's warhammer nearly hit me, as I barely managed to avoid its trajectory, elevating dust in the process. That was tense.

"Your fight is with me," he said as his hammer landed on the soil, the impact of it hard to ignore.

A big guy, isn't he?

Starting to get excited, I jumped up to him, pretending to aim for his head. He raised his shield to block the blow, and I quickly used wind to push myself to a different trajectory midair with my wind magic.

I empowered my fist with a little mana to enhance its strength, and I landed a hit on his exposed stomach.

I tried to push another on, but he finally caught up; I pushed myself out of the way as quickly as possible.

"That was a nice one, little guy," he said, touching his punched stomach, playing it cool, as if nothing happened.

I will be tougher on him next time, if this wasn't a challenge for him. "But I feel you can do more, can't you?" he teased.

So he is, in fact, serious about testing me?

I channeled my mana to activate Thunderclap impulse, and a light breeze went through the whole of my body. All of my cells were being stimulated by electricity, as the nervous messages became faster; so were my reactions, and so was I.

Sparkles of lightning could be seen around my body, and my usually curly hair started getting spikier than ever.

"A new power of yours?" Ragnar asked.

I quickly went for a combo on his right side, landing not one but two strikes this time. He barely managed to cover that area with his shield, as I already went for another one.

His face, although trying to remain blank, showed slight expressions of surprise.

Didn't expect that, did you?

The vibration in the air meant only one thing: the hammer was approaching me from the top. I then increased the mana output to my hands, rendering it strong enough to block his hammer.

The full force of the impact was distributed through my body, and I still felt the least of it.

The clash between my hand and the hammer was loud, extremely so, and pushed him back a few meters.

But that strain was far less than what I could handle.

I'm here for more.

Finally on his legs again, "You're a good one, kid; let's continue this."

I moved as quickly as possible, using wind and gravity as my servants. This time, I went for the head, and I did land a clean punch on him; yet when I tried to retract my fist,

To my surprise, I couldn't.

The son of a b*** was holding it in his palm, and I was stuck. I tried slipping away, but to no use. My heart started racing, and my muscles stiffened.

Shit, I would be crushed. He stuck me to the ground, and the hammer landed, causing a huge aftershock and dust particles flying around the area, creating a huge crater in the ground.

But I wasn't in there; he couldn't crush his hand with me, could he?

I waited for that moment, and as soon as he did, relief poured over me as I replaced parts of the earth to have enough space for my body to enter, just like putting a hole through clay.

Doing so constantly would allow me to move underground as easily as it is to swim at the beach
