Just a silly, short fic in which Donna fixes a radio, based off some ideas I was discussing with a friend. I hope you enjoy : )

The Doctor frantically footled about beneath the console, attempting to fix it in the most high-energy way possible, simply because it was more fun. Donna watched on, as ever looking unimpressed.

"Is there a radio in here?" She asked, as the Doctor fiddled with some wiring. He slid out from under the console to look at her.

"Hmm?"

"Is there a radio?" She repeated. "I thought some music might, you know, brighten up the mood...."

"It's very bright in here!" The Doctor objected.

Donna glanced around at the dark, fairly unlit Tardis console room and raised an eyebrow at him.

"Well, maybe not the actual lighting. But the mood is bright!" He insisted.

"But music would make it brighter...."

The Doctor sighed. "Fine, but I'm not singing. There's a radio in that corner." He pointed to a corner. "Or it might be that one." He gestured to the opposite side. "Have a look around."

Donna sighed. "You know, for someone who has literally all the time in the world, you are extremely disorganised."

The Doctor shrugged. "As I've got so much time, I'd rather use it to see the world, not the inside of this old thing."

The Tardis let out a small whine, and the Doctor patted her, realising this comment may have been a little offensive. "No offence, old girl."

While he was comforting the Tardis, Donna was searching, and there was a loud clunk as she rescued the radio from a huge pile of items.

"Where do you get all this junk from anyway?" She asked in disbelief.

"It's not junk! It's valuable." Said the Doctor indignantly. "And I get it from...you know...stuff. Places. You know...." He trailed off vaguely, before retreating under the console, leaving Donna to tinker with the radio.

"I think I've got it." She said jubilantly after a minute or two, placing the radio down.

"Don't put it there, the signal might interfere with the console!" The Doctor objected.

"It's digital! I don't know how you think we're getting a signal in the middle of the Time Vortex!" Donna rolled her eyes, though she was smiling.

"Actually, it's not digital. It's not even a radio. It's sort of like a big MP3 player - the songs are downloaded on it - but the speaker is built in." Said the Doctor, matter of factly.

"So why do you call it a radio then?" Donna asked.

The Doctor shrugged. "For want of a better word, I suppose."

Donna shrugged too, and began to fiddle with the controls. After a few seconds Mozart's Symphony Number 40 began to play.

The Doctor shook his head. "I mean it's great, but no."

She twisted a few more dials, and Toxic by Britney Spears began to play.

The Doctor laughed at this.  "A traditional ballad. But no."

Another twist, and Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves began to play.

Donna grinned. "Oh I love this one!"

The Doctor grinned too, and the song filled the console room as the Doctor finally finished fixing the console. When it stopped, the radio gave a small pop, and some steam vented from the top. It looked as though they weren't getting any more out of it.

Donna sighed.

"Don't worry." The Doctor reassured her. "It was very old - at least a couple of centuries. Not sure past or future though."

She smiled at this. "So where are we walking on sunshine to?"

The Doctor thought for a second. "How about Apleadia, the Planet of the many suns. They count each unit of time by how many suns are in the sky. They practically worship the suns - there's festivals and events all year round. It's kind of like the planet of the endless parties."

"The planet of the endless parties. Sold." Said Donna, her grin widening.

The Doctor smiled back, pushing a lever and sending the Tardis spiralling into the vortex.
