Important! The usual spot at 5

"Jeongin-ah, what do you think? Does this jacket look okay with this t-shirt?"

The youngest sighed, looking at the growing pile of clothes on the bed and back at his distressed friend. "Hyung, you look fine. Just go. It's already 4:27." He reminded.

"Shoot, where's my wallet?" He frantically scanned through the drawer for his wallet as he snatched the bottle of cologne and sprayed it liberally all over his body, trying to cover all areas with the aromatic mist.

"Ugh! That's enough hyung." Jeongin's face twisted as he waved his hand in front of his face, trying to clear the air that was getting too strong to breathe in as Seungmin continued to bathe himself in the scent.

"Alright, alright. I'm heading out." Shoving his phone and wallet in his pocket, he walked out the dorm. Stepping out onto the campus walkway, his footsteps accompanied by the sound of the late evening wind as it whistled through the tree canopies. The chill evening breeze hit his face, causing ripples of goosebumps to rise across his skin. The sun was just starting to set, tinting the sky with a beautiful mixture of pastel shades and creating an ambiance of calm and serenity.

The streets around him are filled with people rushing to finish their errands before the workday ends, the sidewalks buzzing with the sounds of traffic and conversations. In the midst of this chaotic yet mundane setting, Seungmin walked down the familiar path.

Although he's physically walking down the street, his mind was somewhere else, filled with scenarios with you. Time and space have blurred as he relives past encounters, creating new ones, and imagining a potential future where the two of you can be together.

His thoughts were filled with how it would feel to hold your hand, to brush a lock of hair out of your face, to kiss you gently on your lips. He felt his cheeks warming as he played out these fantasies in his mind, wishing they were reality.

He almost let out a giggle, surroundings becoming an afterthought, the noise and bustle of the city falling away as he wanders blindly in his head, lost in a world where he's with you.

As he nears the coffee shop, he checks himself in the glass walls of passing shops, fixing his hair and checking his attire, making sure everything is perfect that you will think he looks his best. The butterflies in his stomach continue to flutter. His focus is singular, his entire attention dedicated to you and the potential of this meeting.

You were sitting at the table in the corner of the cafe, watching the evening of the bustling city. The sun is beginning to set, and the shadows are growing longer, casting their darkening cloak over the city. Your eyes kept darting towards the door occasionally, feeling a bit nervous but also excited at the prospect.

After some more minutes of waiting, you see Seungmin walking in through the glass door of the cafe, and you immediately wave your hand, calling him over towards the table. He notices you and quickly makes his way over to you, heart picking up speed with anticipation as he closes the distance between. His eyes were drawn to yours and he can't help but notice your smile and the way your hair shimmered in the evening sun, feeling the world around you two fading into the background as his focus remained solely on you.

He couldn't help but notice the stark contrast between his reserved and introspective nature and your outgoing and lively nature. He begins to wonder how they're able to be best friends despite their differences. Still, he's always been drawn to you, attracted by your vivacious personality and energy, fascinated by the way you seem to light up the room, captivated by the joy you seemingly take in living life.

"Seungmo." You stood up, immediately going in for a side hug with your I-hate-physical-contact buddy, not that he really cared when it's from you, but at that moment, he wished you didn't when he heard his own heart thumping against his chest. He stiffens at the sudden gesture, cheeks slowly changing colour at the unexpected touch.

Damn! I'm such a simp.

"What is so important? Make it quick. I haven't got all day." He said with a flat tone, a blatant attempt to hide his nervousness as he sat opposite you.

"Oh please, as if you have got any plans." You shoot back, which earned an eye roll from him. You slid the iced americano you got for him forward.

"So... what's up?" He sipped on his drink, keeping his eyes on you, noticing you fiddling with the straw of your drink.

You get visibly shy as you prepare to speak, still not sure how to break this news to your best friend. You kept looking down at the table when you noticed him looking at you, his gaze expectant as he waited for you to say something.

He notices the way you avoid his gaze, the way you seem unsure how to get to your point across. He could sense the tension in your body language, betraying your discomfort. Call it a gut feeling or whatever, but he was getting an odd feeling as he waited for you to talk, like you were going to confess something that he was not ready to hear.

Still not knowing how to convey the news that was making you feel giddy, you clicked your tongue, muttering a whatever as you took a deep breath and spoke, "You know, our senior Chris from the music department?"

Oh no!

Seungmin certainly disliked the said senior. His heartbeat went from pounding out of excitement to pounding out of fear. "Y-yeah, what about him?"

The pink tint on your cheeks was enough for him to know what this was about but he still wanted to hear it from you, just to be sure.

"Well... he asked me out."

As you looked away with a shy smile, you failed to notice him fighting to keep a neutral expression as his heart sank into the deepest pit of his stomach. He was not ready, he was not prepared, he never was. He felt helpless at the thought of someone else having a hold on someone he adored, someone he cherished, someone he wanted for himself but hadn't yet claimed.

On the outside, he remained stoic, but on the inside, his heart was aching. His throat felt raw, struggling to swallow the lump of anger, jealousy, and anguish. "T-that's wonderful. W-when is the date?"

He forced a smile... and he found himself being the second lead of his own love story.
