oh i'm just a girl, guess i'm some kind of freak
cause they all sit and stare with their eyes
oh i'm just a girl, take a good look at me
just your typical prototype
oh i've had it up to here

just a girl
no doubt

'I like this tattoo' Joni said, tracing the star near his collarbone, then looking at the cross on his hand. 'And I like that one.'

'Thanks,' Eli smiled, lying beneath the bed sheets next to Joni. 'What's blue?'

They were yet to respond to any of the text messages from their friends asking about last night. They did however read all the notifications from absolutely everyone, apparently twitter was going wild and assuming things, but they were just not really acknowledging it all. It didn't really phase them, both had far too much experience with people over social media sharing unwarranted opinions and so this was just another case of that.

'Blue? My tattoo?' She asked, Eli's thumb drawing lines over the word written on the inside of her arm. 'Joni Mitchell, obviously.'

'Oh,' He smiled.

'You know it?' She asked.

'I don't actually.' He sighed, knowing there was every chance Joni might kill him right there and then. 'Sorry!'

'How?! What?! Eli!' She exclaimed. 'Blue, songs are like tattoos...You don't know?!'

'No,' He laughed. 'I am so sorry.'

'Oh my god,' Joni shook her head. 'You just went from a solid nine, to a four.'

'What?' Eli exclaimed, 'Why was I not a ten before?'

'You're a four now.' She said, crossing her arms and shuffling away from him.

'I was a nine before,' He winked, 'Joni Lennox, do you fancy me or some-'

'Shut up.' She said, quickly grabbing the pillow from behind her to slap him in the face with.

They'd spent the next ten minutes arguing over Joni Mitchell. Eli knew some of her songs, all of them besides Joni's favourites and that was unacceptable in her eyes. They didn't realise how much time had passed until the alarm clock went off and they only had ten minutes to check out of the hotel.

It was so easy to get lost in time in one another's company though. They were so similar yet so different at the same time and any silence that occurred was never awkward, or intense. They had all the same passions, the same love for music and similar yet different experiences of growing up in a household that also revolved around music. Whilst for Eli it was his dads own band, for Joni it was the lack of silence in the house she grew up in, the record player working overtime and the shelves so full of records they were bending in the middle.

They did eventually part ways in the morning, this time more successfully than last without bumping into everybody they knew in the process. Eli had time for a quick shower and he'd not even unpacked his suitcase due to not spending a moment of time in his own hotel room, so it was an easy check out for him.

The guys all met in the lobby, and went straight to winding up Eli of course, before deciding they'd go across the road for a bacon roll and to hear all his gossip over coffee and food they were all dying for. The others all got a drink at the hotel bar, Sadie and Dnany included. Even Dean joined them for a pint, and they all tried to get information out of him in regards to Joni and Eli's whereabouts, but he was too good of a manager to crack.

'So what? She got off stage and yous literally went straight there?' Ryan asked.

'Well, I went for a cig and then she appeared and dragged me into a cab.' Eli told them. 'It was the taxi driver's suggestion.'
