EV: Please ignore who the letter is to in the picture. Just pretend that it says Ms. Krum on it.
I woke up this morning feeling refreshed and excited knowing that my Hogwarts letter will come today. I ran downstairs, jumping the last 4 steps, and went into the kitchen. Mom is sitting at the table drinking her hot lemon tea reading the Daily Prophet. My family also reads The Times. A popular paper read in the UK. Dad is making eggs and kippers for all of us. I grab plates from the cupboards and silverware from the drawers. Right when I'm done setting the table, Dad brings the frying pan over and serves us. Dad is off from work for this week because my parents decide that they will take me to Diagon Alley once my letter arrives. Just as we are finishing up breakfast, a scrawny, small owl flies through the window with a letter in its talons. It drops it on the table and steals one of my kippers that I was about to finish eating. It leaves with its prize and flies away. I grab the letter, turned it over, and see my name in bright green letters.

I quickly tore it open to read what it says.
Dear Ms. Krum,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on September 1st. We await your owl by no later than July 31st.
Sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall
Deputy Headmistress
I look inside the envelope and notice my school list for books and equipment.
I show Mom and Dad my school list. I finish my breakfast and put it in the sink so Mom can cast a cleaning spell. I go change into casual clothes upstairs and bring a sweater just in cases the stores are cold in muggle London. My parents did this when they were kids. They went to muggle London first with their muggle money and then the next day, they went to Gringotts to get wizard money for Diagon Alley for their school list.
Even though we are magical humans, we own a car to drive to places. Our family lives in a muggle neighborhood in a small town called Cokeworth. (Just pretend Cokeworth is an expensive home community). I don't know anyone who is a witch or wizard who lives in this neighborhood, if there are some, I wouldn't have realize or that they are very secretive because of the muggles who live in these homes.
I sit on the sofa and wait for Mom and Dad to get ready to go muggle London for extra clothes for the school year that I can put in my personalized trunk. After Mom and Dad came down the stairs, we drove to London. We walked through shops buying stylish, but affordable clothes for me to wear at school. We bought sweaters, coats, jeans, leggings, long sleeves, socks, boots, underwear, dresses, and a few hats and scarves.
I will brink my own accessories and makeup with me instead of buying new ones because it tends to be pretty expensive.
When we were done shopping, we went to a small cafe near a river to eat some lunch. All three of us got fish and chips. It was really good. I got some orange squash to drink too (orange soda). We drove home with the windows down because there was a nice breeze outside. As soon as we got back, I carried my bags of clothes upstairs to my room and put it in my trunk. My trunk actually has a closet in it where you can walk into, like the one Newt Scamander has, but his is way bigger than mine. I'm also taking a couple backpacks with me to bring some extra stuff too. I wrote a letter to Professor McGonagall about me accepting to go to Hogwarts. I went to the attic where we have owls. I choose a scruffy-looking barn owl named Mr. Darcy. I let him know where to take it. I opened the window and he sets off to Hogwarts. I go back to my room to read for a bit.
Mom calls me down a couple hours later to see if I wanted to go on a run with her before dinner. I change into a tank and shorts. I come down to put on my sneakers. I had my black hair tied in a ponytail and a blue headband on my head to keep the loose hairs off my face. I put my running watch on to count how many miles we will run today. I have a fanny pack on with a couple little water bottles attached to it and a small bottle of bug spray inside the pouch.
As we leave the front porch to our cottage, we set off on our run. I have earbuds in to listen to some music. Mom does too, but I think she listens to science podcasts. Mom and Dad work for a Biomedical company that is a muggle company. Although, there is a Squib that owns that company and knows my parents through childhood and allows them to work with his company without having our magical acts to happen in front of the muggles. Sometimes during the year, my parents will go to different countries for research. Sometimes I come with them, sometimes I go spend time with my cousins in Texas. Which is in the United States.
Halfway during our run, we stop at this small park with one giant tree, a fountain, a playground, a small lake, and a couple of restrooms. We use the restroom, drink some water, and head back. As we run back, I see a man with black hair in a loose ponytail washing his car. I don't know him, but I wave at him when he looks up when Mom and I run by. He just nods his head, although his eyes go wide when he looks at me. People usually do that because of the color of my eyes. It pretty rare to be born with violet eyes. We finish our run, take our showers, and have leftovers from our lunch today. I head upstairs to change into pajamas and get ready for bed. I turn out my lamp at 10 and go to sleep. I can't wait to go to Diagon Alley tomorrow!
EV: Thank you for reading chapter 1 and leaving comments. I will write chapter 2 as soon as I can. Have a good day!
