The Life of Ellie Krum-Snape.

Diagon Alley

"Ellie! Time to wake up and get ready to go to Diagon Alley," Mom yells from downstairs. I groaned while taking a shower, getting dressed, doing my bathroom stuff, and eating breakfast. Dad puts a giant mug of coffee right in front of me. I drink it very quickly and my emotional and physical state feels a lot better than it did when I woke up.

I put on my by black boots that go with my mini skirt and blouse. Mom and Dad are wearing casual clothes just because and I feel like they should dress up nice too. We head into the car and drive toward London. I see an old-looking building that looks like it will fall apart any moment now. 

When we get out of the car, we walk toward the old building and I realize that there is a shiny material around the building. Mom lightly grabs my shoulder and we walk through the shiny material. I tap on Mom's arm and she leans down. "What was that Mom? Did the muggles see us?" I ask her. She tells me that wizards had glamoured the building, so that anyone, either muggle or magical being, walked by, it would look like an about-to-fall-apart building. Only magical beings are able to walk through it and notice the shiny glamour surrounding the building.

As we enter, a large sign above the door says "The Leaky Cauldron." Weird name for a pub. We walk to the opposite side of the pub and stand right in front of a brick wall. "What now?" I ask. Dad pulls out his wand from his sleeve and taps the bricks.

"Wow!" I exclaimed. There were shops on both sides of the street and a tall white building at the very end of the shops. We walk toward the white building and my Dad says that this building is called Gringotts. I walk inside first while my parents follow me. I walk up to the desk and a goblin  peeps over the counter. "Name and why you are here," he says. I tell him my name and that I needed to have some money withdrawn from my vault for Hogwarts supplies.

My parents hand him my vault key and we climb into a cart that takes off like a rollercoaster. The cart stops at Vault 125. One of the vaults that my Dad owns that he saved for me. I have a small sack that has an Enlargement charm on the inside of it. That way I can fill the bag without having to worry that my money will spill out or that the bag can't hold what I put in there.

After we leave Gringotts, I get out my Hogwarts supply list from the back of my skirt pocket. First shop to go to is Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, or just Madam Malkin's is fine. I walk in and wait to be called up on the platform. A witch with a magical measuring tape notices me and beacons me over to the platform to fit me for clothes. "First time dear?" she asks. "Yes ma'am. Am I able to get one dark blue and one dark green winter cloak instead of a black one?" I reply. She nods her head while the measuring tape flies around my body measuring me from different angles and sides. The measurements are automatically added to a piece of parchment that is floating in the air right beside me. "I also need a pair of dragon hide gloves, work robes, and some name tags to go onto my robes and cloak," I say. Madame Malkin allows me to hop off the platform. She leads us to the register to pay for my clothes while they are being made. "That'll be 20 galleons, 9 sickles, and 3 knuts," she says. Dad pays for me and asks when the clothes will be ready. We are given a time of an hour and a half. Onto the next store!

Mom and Dad lead me to Flourish & Blotts. A giant bookstore with magical and non-magical books. "So, what books do you need Ellie?" my parents ask me. I start to list the books I needed for this year; The Standard Book of Spells (Grade 1) by Miranda Goshawk, A History of Magic by Bathilda  Bagshot, Magical Theory by Adalbert Waffing, A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration by Emeric Ewitch, One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi by Phyllida Spore, Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them by Newt Scamander, and The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection by Quentin Trimble. Whew! That's a lot of books. Mom pays exactly 25 galleons worth.
