Christmas Holidays

Mmm. I'm just waking up. I roll over to my other side and fall off the side of the bed. Oof! I'm awake now. Not a good way to wake up.

I get off the floor and fix my bed. I head to my dresser and closet to change into some clothes for the day. I change into some jeans and a short sleeve shirt. I head downstairs. I walk into the living room and sit down at the table. A plate of sausage, eggs, and fruit sits in front of me. Mom comes over and sets down a cup of hot cinnamon tea. I give her a hug and thank her for Breakfast. Dad is sitting across the table reading the newspaper and Mom walks over to the sink to rinse off the dishes and put them in the dishwasher.

Once done with my Breakfast, I look out the window and notice that it's snowing. Lightly though. I ask my parents when we'll go shopping for Christmas gifts. Mom says after I fully get ready for the day, and then we can all leave. I take the stairs two at a time. I brush my teeth, comb my hair, and then braid it into two French braids. I go my hope chest and pop open the lid. Under the blankets and other things is my bag of cash and coins. I meet up with my parents in the entryway. We put on coats and snow boots, along with mittens and caps. We Floo to Diagon Alley and pop out of one of the fireplaces in Gringotts. We ask the Goblins to enter our vaults. We grab what we need. We also ask if the Goblins could transfer the wizard money into muggle money. They do that for us. We thank them and leave the building.

We head through Diagon Alley, so I could pick up some gifts for my friends and some gifts will be from the muggle shops also. I went to Flourish and Blotts to get a book about Hexes, Jinxes, & Curses for Theo and I went to Madam Malkin's to get one green turtleneck sweater and a black mini skirt for Alexis. I head to a couple muggle shops to get a book of Astrology for Juliet and some makeup for Ashley. I have decided that I will get my teacher's gifts in Hogsmeade right before break is over.

We decide to head back home when the sky started to turn dark and the weather forecast had said that it was going to snow hard this evening.

Days later...

IT'S CHRISTMAS/YULE!!!!!! I can't wait to open my presents. Dad makes his famous chocolate pancakes. Mom makes her Nutella crepes with powdered sugar and strawberries. After Breakfast  and tea, Dad sits on the couch with me while Mom levitates the presents for all of us. Mom and Dad allowed me to go first again (we do this every year).

I got a short blue dress and a card from Juliet. When I opened the card, paper butterflies popped out and exploded into glitter that disappears when it touches the ground. Theo got me a giant, thick book of potions, ranging from easy to difficult. Ashley sent me a box of exotic candy from other wizarding communities around the world. Alexis got me a gift card for an expensive makeup store in London. Mom bought me a guitar and Dad bought me a blank journal to write my own songs. When finish with unwrapping my presents, I give my parents a huge hug.

We all spend some outside time after the snowstorm has calmed down. Our small pond had iced overnight, so my parents and I decided to suit up and do some ice skating on our pond. One of our favorite things to do is make snow creatures. Usually, they are magical creatures. Once done making them, my parents cast spells on them to make them animated. We do this in our fenced-in backyard. That way, our neighbors won't notice and we don't have to bring in the Aurors to Obliviate them.

A week before holidays are over, students are allowed to take the train back to Hogwarts to enjoy some 'Hogwarts Christmas' and give their gifts to others. I pack up, floo to the station after saying goodbye to my parents, and get on the train. The train leaves and arrives at Hogwarts in 5 hours this time because there are less students on the train this time. While on the train, I write a few letters with different gifts for each of my teachers, wrote down for the shopkeeper that they can charge me under my name at Gringotts. I send Shadow off the train with the letters and tell her where to take each one. She'll probably get to Hogsmeade before I get to Hogwarts.

Home comes pretty quickly and I'm back in my room unpacking. All of a sudden, the items I had bought for my favorite staff members appear on my bed. I wrap them up and head down to the Great Hall to put the gifts under the tree.

Dinner starts eventually and they're about 100 students in the Great Hall. During school days, it's about 600 students. 20 students per year. 140 each house. Dinner was quiet, but there were several students who were speaking with their friends about what they got for Christmas.

The Baked Chicken with Yellow Rice was delicious and the same goes for the desserts. Dinner is done and Dumbledore stands up to announce that the teachers will kindly accept their gifts now. Some people left and some of us stayed. Dumbledore opened his and a twinkle appears in his eyes. I got him a neon purple robes with solar-powered lights that flash (definitely going to annoy the professors). Madam Pomfrey was crying with joy. I got her a year long gift of Pain Reliever Potion. Mcgonagall gives a light chuckle. I got her a box of catnip and a book of different potions she can have made that includes catnip in them. And finally... Snape. He slowly opens his gift. I got hime 3 small gifts. A carton of dark chocolate frogs, a book of animagi, and a letter. The letter has a drawing of him with black ears and tail. I write a little note saying that his animagus would be great if he was a panther. One that prowls the night searching for 'prey' and protecting his 'young.'

Dumbledore grants us goodnight and we all head off to bed. I give Shadow and Kiada their gifts and they thank me by nipping my ear and chin. Best Christmas holidays!
