I panically looked out into the distance, trying to find the source of the gun shot. I scanned the tree line for any evidence, until I spotted a tan pickup covered up by low hanging branches.

I quickly ran and grabbed Beth and Carl, getting them behind a set of bleachers that were in the middle of the courtyard. Carol had grabbed Axel's body and used him as coverage. The bullets started flying everywhere, I could see the bullets entering Axel's backside, and I knew I needed to go and get Carol.

My mind then raced to Hershel and Rick. Hershel was down in the field talking to Rick, while Rick was on the outside of the fence, but my mind was brought back to the situation I was in when bullets whizzed by my head.

Drew my gun, "You two have to get to better cover." I shouted over the gunfire, "I'll cover you, once I start shooting you two run behind that wall back there. Got it?"

"What about you?" Concerned was written on Beths face.

"I have to get Carol. I'll be behind you okay?" I tried to reassure her.

Carl grabbed her hand and I took that as my chance to run behind a metal filing cabinet. Bullets were flying all around me which meant the assailant didn't shoot at Carl or Beth. I peeked around and shot several shots at the man on the guard tower.

"Jordyn!"

I turned to see Maggie running out carrying two rifles. She ran behind the filing cabinet, handing me one. I quickly made sure it was loading before placing my gun back onto my hip.

Bullets were erupting again, "We have to get Carol." I said as I aimed the rifle to the guard tower.

"Carol, go!" Maggie yelled as she started firing her weapon.

Carol ran to where Carl and Beth were behind the wall I had told them to run to, but as she ran there were no gun shots coming from the tower anymore. Instead, in the distance I heard a loud roaring engine sound, that was immediately followed by metal clashing together.

I peeked my head up high enough to see a large truck with our gates attached to the front, coming to a stop in the middle of the yard. I squinted my eyes to try to focus on the truck, trying to figure out what was going on. A metal ramp on the back of the truck fell to the ground with a loud bang. Then walkers starting piling out of the truck, and swarming the yard.

"We can never catch a break." I muttered, as I watched the walkers litter the prison yard.

Then the gunfire began again, bullets connecting to the filing cabinet once again. I remembered that Hershel was in that prison yard, now with those walkers. Fear would be what I describe how I felt in that moment. I couldn't loose anyone else. I recklessly stood up and starting firing aimlessly at the man on the tower until I saw him drop onto the metal flooring.

I quickly ran to the metal gate, unlocking it and sliding it open. I saw Maggie, and Beth run ahead of me inside the prison yard. I began to fire as many shots as I could, trying to kill as many walkers as I could so I could clear a path to Hershel.

I saw our truck pull in at full speed into the yard, running over as many walkers as it could until it came to a stop. Glenn jumping out of the truck, rushing over to grab Hershel. Now my only concern was Rick. He was out there by himself. As I was about to run into the prison yard to find Rick, I was being grabbed by Maggie by my wrist and dragged behind the gate as Glenn drove the truck in.

"Rick's still out there!"

"Rick can handle himself, Jordyn!" Maggie yelled.

I stood there, frozen as I watched as Carl locked the gate behind himself.
