It had been two days since we saw that sign about Terminus. Every sign we came across we'd check to see how close we were.
"I think we got about a day's worth of water left." Rick was up in front leading the way. "We're lucky it's cooled off a little but, but..." Rick glanced behind him looking at Carl and Michonne as they balanced themselves on the sides of the tracks. "What are you doin?" He asked.
"Winning a bet." Carl beamed.
"In your dreams." Michonne challenged.
"This might go on a while." Rick walked towards the pair. "Maybe we can speed this up."
"Yeah you're right." Michonne agreed, "Shouldn't be fooling around. We should probably--Carl!" She attempted to scare him, but failed causing herself to fall off the track.
"I win." Carl had a smug grin on his face. "Pay up."
I smiled at their shenanigans, reminding me how my brother and I used to be.
We walked a few more miles before setting up camp just off the tracks. I sat on a near by rock, sharpening my knife on a stone I found.
"I'm gonna go check the snares." Rick told us.
"Can I go with you?" Carl asked, looking up at his father.
"Well, how else are you gonna learn?" Rick smiled down to him.
Rick kicked some dirt into the fire, white smoke emerging from the makeshift pit.
"Both of you, too." He looked between Michonne and I.
I nodded, placing my knife back into its sheath on my hip before following behind Rick.
"We'll stay another day or two. Get some more rest." Rick placed his hands in his jacket pockets as we walked through the woods.
"Finish healing up?" Michonne asked.
"Yeah, I'm almost there, you Jordyn?" Rick turned to me.
"Mhm." I nodded, not raising my eyes up from the ground.
"We're close now, right?" Carl turned to his father.
"To Terminus?" Rick asked.
"Yeah."
"We are." Rick answered.
"When we get there, are we gonna tell them?" Carl asked again.
"Tell them what?" Michonne looked at Carl with confusion.
"Everything that's happened to us. All the stuff we've done. Are we gonna tell them the truth?" Carl elaborated, worry laced in his voice.
"We're gonna tell them who we are." Rick replied, but Carl wasn't convinced.
"How do you say that? I mean who are we?"
Snarls, and leaves crunching came from in front of us. A walker slowly emerging from the woods. I took out my knife, marching towards the walker,
"I got it." I said before shoving my knife in its eye socket.
We checked all the snares, one snare had a small rabbit in the noose. Rick explained what type of knot to use, and how to set one. Rick would give Tyler a run for his money.
"Help!"
We all heard a man scream in the distance. Carl immediately took off towards the screaming man.
"Carl no!" Rick scolded, but he couldn't reach for him in time.
I chased after Carl, stopping when I saw Rick grab him, stopping him from shooting his gun.
