"Carl!" Rick shouted running over to his son.
I looked over and saw a bullet wound on the left side of his abdomen, I scrambled to apply pressure onto the wound, Rick falling to his knees beside Carl.
"Carl, wake up." Rick said franticly, tapping his face.
Shane stood in front of us with his gun raised, a bigger man coming out of the tree line "Oh god."
I looked up and saw the man stare at Carl in horror. Then I heard Shane yell, "You son of a bitch!"
"Shane! Not now!" I yelled franticly. "He's loosing too much blood. I can't get control of the bleeding, Rick."
"I'll take y'all to our farm! We can fix him up there!" The man said, and that's all Rick needed to hear.
Rick picked up Carl and started running towards the man, "Which way?" He asked panicked.
"Not that far, just straight on back that way!"
I got up where I was bent down and saw the puddle of blood that collected in the short amount of time Carl was on the ground for.
"Let's go Jordyn!" Shane yelled while shoving the bigger man in front of him.
I nodded, and started running after Rick who carried a dead weight Carl in his arms. We ran for awhile before crossing over into a field.
"Hey, you move shit head!" Shane manhandled the man, "Come on, get us there!"
"How far?!" Rick yelled.
"About a half-mile." the man said out of breath. "Ask for Hershel, he'll help your boy."
I saw Shane slowing down to deal with the man that shot Carl, but I needed to be there for Rick. I also was O negative. I ran just ahead of Rick while he carried Carl. We crossed another clearance, and I saw a white farm house off in the distance. I kept running towards the house, hopping over a paster fence and up to the house where I was met by an old man, a lady in a dress with blonde hair, a girl with short brown hair, another girl with blonde hair, and a boy wielding a bat.
"Was he bit?" The old man shouted.
"No! He was shot! By your man." I said, looking back I saw Rick now walking up behind me carrying Carl.
"Otis?"
"He said find Hershel. Is that you?" Rick asked as the old man walked towards him.
After getting one look at Carl, he yelled, "Get him inside."
I followed behind Rick panting, "Patricia, I need my full kit." Hershel was now rolling up his sleeves to his white buttoned up shirt. "Maggie, painkillers, coagulates- grab everything. Clean towels, sheets alcohol." Hershel walked us into a bed room and motioned for Rick  to set Carl down onto the bed.
"Pillow case." Hershel said towards Rick, but Rick was too focused on his boy. So I grabbed a pillow, ripping the casing off it the fabric.
"Fold it, make a pad, young lady."
I did as I was told knowing he was wanting me to apply pressure to the wound. I held the pad to the wound as he took his stethoscope to hear Carls heart.
"Is he alive?" Rick asked.
I looked at Hershel waiting to hear a response from him, "I've got a heart beat. It's faint."
I saw someone hand maneuver their way on top of mine, holding pressure onto the wound, "I've got it step back honey." I looked over my shoulder and saw the blonde lady in the dress looking at me, causing me to nod and step back.
