Some time before...

I did it. I broke up with Kevin. I was crying my eyes out.
After I left the record store, running for my life, to a place as far away from Kevin as I could, I couldn't help but start crying even more. Kevin was my first boyfriend and it was over, everything. Everything was over forever and I couldn't go back. I didn't know what to do, I just knew I didn't want to see his face...
Then I saw Ken and I stopped in front of him, he saw me crying and got really scared.
- Emily? Are you okay? Why are you crying?
- I kinda... kinda broke up with Kevin...
- What? Why?!?
- I think we're better off as friends.
- What do you mean? You literally love him so much, I can see it in your eyes!!! The way you talk about him, the way you smile when you see him, I've never seen someone being so much in love as you two!!! And I see exactly the same in his eyes, it's too obvious he loves you more than anyone on this earth.
- I'm not so sure... he didn't even came after me...
- Well, I'm sure he has his reasons, maybe he needs some time to think, he must be as sad as you are right now.
- You're probably right...
- Maybe let's sit a little, you need to calm down. Let's go sit on that bench over there.

I was sobbing so much I couldn't even breathe properly, but I had to be strong, I broke up with Kevin, it was my decision, not his. Everything was going to be okay... I believed...
Ken and I went and sat on a bench near the water fountain and started talking about life and stuff like that, then he got closer to me and looked right into my eyes.
- You know, you got really beautiful eyes.
- Thanks.- I said while smiling through the tears.
- You're an amazing girl, and Kevin knows that, I'm sure he loves you so much he would walk through fire for you.
- I'm not so sure...
- You don't have to be because I am, and that's enough.
- Thank you for being here for me, when I tell the girls what happened they will probably kill Kevin.

- I don't know, maybe because you guys are stupid?

After that I started telling Ken how Heather was my sister and how everything happened, and he was so concentrated in what I was saying, nobody ever paid so much attention to what I said before, not even Kevin. I was happy someone was actually interested in what I had to say, it made me feel better.

- Yep, we're sisters, who would guess the girl I hated the most in my life was actually my sister and dated my boyfriend?

After wiping my tears away, Ken started telling me a story about a princess whose boyfriend was stupid if he didn't see how amazing and intelligent she was, not letting her do all the things she wanted because she was "a princess" and had to do "princess stuff". It was really amazing and had such a beautiful meaning.
- Oh my god, Ken. That story is so good. You could actually write a book about that, you know?
- Well, it's not bad but it's not my best work though, I already made better stories before, but I love the meaning behind this one.

- Yes, it is. Do you wanna go walk around the mall?? Maybe see some stores and buy some cool stuff. I can buy you a book, if you want.

After we agreed that shopping was the just the best, we got up and started walking around some stores. We went to Brandy Melville and started seeing some clothing. I then saw a really cute top, it was my favorite top, and I couldn't stop looking at it, but it was too expensive for me to afford it.

- Should I buy it for you? It would make you feel better.

We payed for the top and then left the store. I was having fun with Ken and that made me stop thinking about Kevin as much and gave time for my eyes and heart to rest a little from the pain and crying. We went to another stores and I bought Ken a little keychain with Olivia Rodrigo on it, we're both Livies so I decided that since we were going to the concert together it'd be nice to give him a present.
