Chapter 10: Bankruptcy Of Life

•Jakayla's POV•
I wonder if Patrick likes me the way I like him. Hmm. Probably not. He's a famous 20 year old with a son and a wife. I'm just a boring 18 year old girl. I sigh.
My phone dings, telling me that I have a new text message.
New Message
Unknown Number
Leave Fall Out Boy and Abigail behind and never look back or else I will find and kill all of them. I'll make you watch.
I freeze. I have to leave. I'll fake my death. I'll drive off the bridge and I'll survive.
I run into my connected bathroom and find my used blade. "My old friend," I whisper.
I cut three cuts on each arm. One for each person that could be dead plus me.
"Jakayla?" someone yells making this cut go too deep.
"Patrick!" I yell. "Help! Patrick!"
Patrick runs into my bedroom looking for me. "I'm in the bathroom. Here. I'll unlock it."
I reach up and unlock the bathroom door and scoot back. Patrick comes running into the bathroom. I look up at him and that's the last thing I see before I start to black out. I hear him yelling, "Pete! Call 911! Now!"
"It's okay, Jakayla. You'll be okay," he whispers in my ear.
"Pete!"
"What? Oh my god. Jakayla!" Pete says.
"Just call 911!"
"Jakayla. Look at me. You'll be okay," he adds.
"You're crying. Don't cry," I whisper. I wipe a stray tear from his left cheek.
"I didn't mean for it too go deep. Someone yelled and scared me," I whisper/explain. I hear sirens in the distance getting louder.
"I love you, Jakayla," Patrick whispers in my ear. That's the last thing I hear before I black out.
