•Pete's POV•
I'm lucky I run fast. Those paramedics sure did run. I hate hospitals. They remind me of my attempt. I sigh, sitting in the waiting room. When will Abby and Patrick get here? I hate this. I don't even know if she's alive. I start to sob again.
"Pete?" Patrick runs over to me and calms me down.
"They haven't told me anything. I don't know anything."
Abigail comes in the waiting room a few minutes later. "Anything?" she asks.
I shake my head no.
"Jakayla's family?" the doctor asks.
I run over to the doctor with Patrick and Abigail not far behind. "That's us. I'm her brother. They are her friends."
"Well, I am saddened to inform you that Jakayla is in a coma. We are unsure of when she will awaken."
Abigail and I start sobbing again, holding each other close. Patrick asks the doctor, "Can we see her?"
He nods. "Her room is 234."
The doctor walks down the hallway. Patrick helps us off the floor and we follow. We finally stop at a small room. I see Jakayla laying in the hospital bed with an IV in her arm and bandages on both of her forearms. Abigail and I sit on the couch, next to the window and wait for whatever comes our way next. Patrick sits in the chair next to Jakayla, puts his head on her bed, and whispers something to her that we can't understand.
