It was a lonely night, and she was on her period.
Tonight was going to be dim, Scarlett was going to pop a bottle of wine. There wasn't much for her to do on this night, she planned to lay back and binge shows with a craving for wine. It was going to be a jazzy tonight, It was going to be just herself.
Scarlett headed down to the kitchen, her house was quite echoey. So walking there made the place wake up, her soft creeks headed down the hallway. It was like someone was there, even though she was alone. The kitchen lights started to dim wide as Scarletts's eyes adjusted.
Something about being alone made her get goosebumps. As if a presence were around her. She walked it off and headed to the wine cellar. A grasp opened after pulling the knob, it was like pressure popping through her ear. She jumped at how unpleasant the door opened.
And yet, she jumped again but this time it was a notification on her phone. The buzz ran through the marble counter. Scarlett have might been a bit anxious, probably because she was home alone and there was a murderer on the loose.
In this small town, there's always been a killer lurking around this town. It was quite scary for her, she always knew to lock the door and the windows. And to keep all blinds shut. This has been happening for a while, yet the police haven't caught these criminals.
So Scarlett would look around if there was anyone following her, this was for her own sake. So just staying in felt safer that way. Her eyes glanced at her phone as she read the notification, it was from her boyfriend.
"Hey babe, I'm nearby, do you think I can come over?" Scarlett read, kicking her feet. "Yeah you can come over, I'm just chilling at home." She replied back. Scarlet and AJ have been together since high school, she always adored him, and he was probably the only reason that I stayed in this shitty town.
It was shitty, this town was a wasteland for me. There was nothing here, the drama here dried out since everyone knew each other, people were on crack, and murders never ended. So there was a reason for me to leave but I didn't.
Something was holding me back, like a string that kept pulling. Maybe it was AJ, we have been high school sweethearts for a while. But that wouldn't make sense for me not to leave, after all, there was a door wide open for me to leave.
I don't know, love always finds a way to keep me back. 'Cause now I'm here cutting cheese slices to pear with the fine glass of wine. And in a moment my boyfriend will be here to enjoy this evening.
The blade was trying to carve into the block of chesee, it sounded like a rock trying to be cut, but instead getting slammed against the counter. Scarlett was getting frustrated from there not being any silces. Just crushed chesee.
Before her anger got out, a doorbell rang. Ring, Ring, Ring. It had rung multiple times, which irritated Scarlett. So Scarlett rushed down, she thought that her hubby was waiting for her at the front door, which made her excited.
Her steps followed into echoes around the house. Landing her at her porch. Not within a second, she opens the door to find no one there. Surprisingly, this made her get goosebumps around her arms. Her spine felt too cold for her liking
Scarlett headed back into her home, it was weird that no one was there. And yet frightening since her doorbell rang. She reached into the pocket of her pants, trying to reach for her phone. One thing on Scarletts's mind was texting AJ.
Her fingers were tapping as if there was a need for an emergency, which there was. "Babe, I'm home alone and there was someone that kept ringing the door. I'm scared. Please come here fast, ASAP!"
