"Well you certainly hold vendettas. Hopefully I won't piss you off."
Signs of life were visible now on the beach. The sand had concealed many figures lurking about, as a number of young boys made their way towards the sounds from the conch. Three little boys that seemed no older than Johnny appeared from startlingly close. Julia ushered them over to take a seat like Johnny and wiped the mess from the fruits off their faces. As the girl settled all the boys and cleaned them up, Piggy followed around and asked them each for their names, frowning to remember them. The boys listened to Julia as if she were a teacher or mother, and complied with Piggy as they did the men with megaphones.
Their clothing varied. Some were half-covered, some still fully dress, and a few little ones were completely nude, only carrying their clothes to the platform where Julia helped them re-button their shirts. The boys were all in a range of school uniforms; some grey, some blue, some fawn, some jacketed, some jerseyed, some sweatered. There were badges and emblems, some holding mottoes from their schools. Their heads clustered in spectrum of colours, from black to blonde, fair and light to bright and ginger, chestnut, sandy, and mouse-coloured too. They were muttering, speculating. They all watched Ralph with an unnatural patience. Something was happening, they weren't to act out.
What seemed to be the last sets of feet rushing their way over to the platform was a pair. Two tow-headed boys flung themselves down onto the shade of the platform, just by Ralph's feet, panting like dogs. They were twins, duplications of each other that found little to no variation. They breathed together, grinned together, it was as if their thoughts were one. One would have to examine them both scrutinisingly to find even the slightest physical deviation. They were lively despite their fatigue. Julia led them over to sit with the others, wracking her memory for how she recognised them, "Eric and Sam?" She asked aloud.
They nodded, "We saw you-"
"-on the plane."She nodded in agreement. "Yes, Sam said hullo, then you told me your names as you boarded." She remembered. She had also seen them earlier in the airport. She helped them when they were boarding, ensuring their father she would help them get to their seats, as he wasn't flying with them.
Piggy followed behind. Once they sat, he pointed at the boy on the right, "Eric?"
The boy pointed to himself, "Sam." Then his brother, "Eric."
Piggy pointed back and forth at the two, "Sam, Eric. Sam, Eric." He paused, "Eric?" The twins shook their heads, the other boys watching along laughed. "How will we ever tell you two apart?"
"Probably don't have to." Julia commented. "They'll stick together, won't you?" The boys nodded. Still, she knelt down so her eyes were level with the sitting boys'. "Let's try..." she began to think up a way to test them, thinking back to the mannerisms she gathered from them. "Did you spot anyone else on your way to the platform?"
