Suddenly, he took a fighting stance, ready to defend himself. I felt more convinced and took a fighting stance as well. I got ready, with the idea of aiming his chest. I held my dagger firmly and jumped towards him as fast and unexpectedly as possible.
*SWOOSH*
This time, he was still in front of me. I stopped breathing, looking at the dagger. I couldn't see his arm. Didn't he... parry? My heart raced, frightened at what I would discover. I followed the blade with my eyes. It was stabbed in his chest. The blade became red, blood dripping from it. Without thinking, I removed it and threw the dagger away in horror. But this was a mistake. Blood started to pour out of his chest, creating a very large stain on his suit. My eyes went wide. I looked up at Jungkook, horrified. What... have I done??? Have I just... stabbed him???
Jungkook smiled at me.
"Good job! Now that's a great attack!" He praised me.
"B-But I stabbed you!! You're bleeding!!! Why didn't you move!!!" I shouted, losing control of my emotions.
"I wanted to see how good of an attack it was. It looked promising. I honestly thought you wouldn't dare " he explained, as calm as ever.
"Are you out of your mind??? I trusted you!!! How could you let me stab you..." I started to cry, completely overwhelmed by the situation.
"Shhh relax, I'm a vampire remember? I don't die so easily. And Hoseok will heal me" he casually said.-Choice to get angry or go to Hoseok immediately-
1. Get angry
I was furious. He doesn't care at all.
"How can you be so carefree??" I asked, clenching my fists.
"I've known much worse. It's nothing, I can even regenerate on my own, it's not as bad as it looks" he said reassuringly.
"SO WHAT???" I screamed, unable to contain my anger anymore.
He was taken aback, shocked. He certainly wasn't expecting me to yell.
"So what if you heal... In the meantime you're hurt... How could you do this to me... You tricked me into hurting you... I feel so betrayed... I trusted you..." I said, crying.
Jungkook felt unsettled, being confronted to this situation for the first time. He slowly approached me, hesitant. He then took me into an embrace, rubbing his hands on my back to calm me down. I was pressed against his chest. I could feel the warm blood on my cheek but I was too shaken to be disgusted.
"I'm sorry, I won't do it again. I didn't mean to hurt you" he said in a low voice.
"Hurt me? You're more hurt than me" I said.
"I hurt your feelings and I made you cry. This is worse than a wound to me" he said apologetically.
He took a step back to look at me and removed the blood on my cheek with his sleeve.
"I just wanted to help you. I thought it would be much more fruitful to practise on me than on a dummy"
"I understand your point, but it's too dangerous." I paused. "But I still don't understand how you don't care about bleeding" I said, puzzled.
"Well, I'm used to it so I don't care anymore"
"How can you be used to it? Were you wounded a lot?" I asked, unsure how far I could go.
"Indeed. In the past, I had to fight a lot to survive. Therefore, I was hurt a lot. These were difficult times. So at some point, I started not to care. The wounds didn't hurt as much as they used to. You could say I got used to pain" he said, a slight veil of sadness crossing his eyes.
I had no idea he lived such a rough life. No wonder it changed him. Getting used to pain... How sad.
"Can I ask you something, even if it seems a bit selfish?" I asked.
"Sure, ask away"
"I realise I cannot ask you to care, but could you at least do your best not to get hurt? Not to get injured on purpose? It really hurt me to see you injured.." I explained.
"If it's for you, I don't mind" he said with a smile on his face.
Suddenly, I realised the blood stopped dripping from his wound.
"Are you regenerating?" I asked hopeful.
"Yes I am. I told you I would"
I sighed in relief.
"Enough training for today I guess. I'll take you to your room to rest now" he said.
"Shouldn't we go to Hoseok first? To heal you right away?"
"No it's really not necessary now, the wound is closing already"
*WARP*
At the same moment, Hoseok teleported in the room. He looked very upset.
"Oh hey Hoseok, what brings you here?" Jungkook asked innocently.
"Don't act innocent. I can tell what happened. Y/N, you can go, I'll take care of this idiot" Hoseok said, glaring at Jungkook.
"Guess I won't heal all by myself" Jungkook concluded.
"Alright, I trust you" I said before leaving the room.
I'm not gonna lie, knowing that Hoseok will heal him appease me. Jungkook is in safe hands now.
