Moonlight Vampires

Taehyung teleported us in a room where we shouldn't be disturbed. The last time I saw him, he was in a very bad condition after the battle.

"Are you feeling better? You looked very exhausted last time at the meeting"
"Yes I recovered"
"I didn't think reading minds could get you in such a state. I thought the worst it could give was a bad headache"
"I wasn't in that state because of reading minds. I used my other ability"
"Wait, you can have two abilities? I thought you could master only one element"
"One element yes. But I'm talking about abilities. I don't master any element. As you already know, I master telepathy. And my other ability is linked to that. I can not only read minds, I can control them"
"Control minds??? That's so dangerous!!"
"Indeed, it's one of the most powerful abilities. It's very difficult to master though. And it's dangerous for me as well. It drained all my energy, that's why I was left in such a state"
"Alright I see... Wait, you're not gonna control my mind right??? I didn't agree to practise with you like that!"
"Of course not! Who do you think I am? I'll only try to read your mind and teach you how to shield your mind, meaning stopping me from entering your thoughts"
"Oh..." I felt relieved. I imagined for a second being his puppet. I shuddered at the thought.

"Let's begin then. Here's the first exercise. You think about three facts, two correct and one wrong. I must guess which fact is the wrong one. Don't make it too obvious though. And don't focus on the wrong one or I'll guess right away. You need to stay as neutral as possible"

He removed his eye patch and his eyes turned purple, the sign that he was ready to use his ability. This colour was still making me uncomfortable, throwing me back to the day of my arrival when he used his power against me... I tried not to show my discomfort.

Alright, let's think about three facts : I'm holding a diary, a vampire drank my blood, I stabbed Jungkook.

I tried to remain neutral, not reacting to anything, though it was difficult to think casually about the last fact... I kept trying to stop thinking about anything else, so as not to give him the answer.

His eyes got wide when I thought about the third fact though. Somehow, he knew it wasn't a lie. It was so incredible the little time it took him to guess, I was sure he would think this was the wrong one.

Taehyung frowned and clenched his fists.
"What on earth have you done!!!!" He shouted.
I stepped back in fear.
"I-It was an accident!! I practised the dagger with Jungkook and he played the dummy. I was against it but he insisted. And during one of my attacks, he didn't dodge..." I said hurriedly before he started imagining the wrong things.
"Stupid idiot Jungkook" he cursed at him.
Is it possible that he was not angry at me but at him?
After a moment, he sighed and calmed down.
"I know how it happened, I saw it all in your thoughts... I didn't mean to scare you, I was just very surprised"
"It's okay, it was quite unexpected"

"So back to the exercise. Your choice of facts was not good. The second fact was obviously false, I didn't need to read your mind to know it. And in your mind, your voice quivered when you mentioned the third fact so though I was surprised, I could tell it was true."
"I understand for the last fact. But how did you know that the second fact was wrong? I live among seven vampires after all"
"If one of us had bitten you, it wouldn't be a secret to any of us and you would have the mark of the fangs. And it couldn't be another vampire. You didn't know the existence of vampires before coming here and you didn't leave the manor alone since. Plus, as high and respectable vampires, none of us would do this"
I was surprised by his analysis. I don't know if it's linked to his ability, but he's very good at analysing facts.
"Why do you think none of you would? I now know that my blood is alluring to you all. One of you could have given in to their temptation"
"For us, biting and drinking blood is a sign of affection. It's no small thing. You could almost compare it to a love declaration. This is clearly not something we joke about, we all take it very seriously"
