As Pete gradually regained consciousness, he became aware of a subtle change in his surroundings. The harsh chill of the concrete floor was replaced by the soft warmth of fabric against his skin, and he realized that his clothes had been changed. There was no need to question who had done it; instinctively, he knew it was Vegas

"Finally awake, are you?"

The voice startled Pete, and he looked up to see Vegas sitting across from him, his expression unreadable in the low light. Pete's heart skipped a beat as he remembered the events that had led him here – the chase through the alley, Vegas's sudden appearance, and the darkness that had enveloped him.

"What did you do to me?" Pete demanded, his voice hoarse with confusion and fear.

Vegas's lips curled into a cold smile, sending a chill down Pete's spine. "Just a little something to ensure you wouldn't cause any trouble," he replied, his tone dripping with malice.

Pete's mind raced as he tried to make sense of Vegas's words. What had he done to him? And why?

Before he could voice his questions, Vegas rose from his seat and crossed the room to stand before Pete. The air crackled with tension as their eyes met, and Pete felt a surge of anger and betrayal rising within him.

"Why are you doing this?" he demanded, his voice trembling with emotion. "What do you want from me?"

Vegas's expression softened slightly, a hint of sadness flickering in his eyes. "I told you, Pete," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'm not leaving you alone tonight. Not after everything that's happened."

Pete's heart constricted at Vegas's words, a flood of memories crashing over him like a tidal wave. Despite everything that had transpired between them, he couldn't shake the lingering feeling of connection – the undeniable bond that still existed between them, no matter how much they tried to deny it.

But even as Pete struggled to come to terms with his conflicting emotions, one thing remained clear – he couldn't trust Vegas, not after what he had done to him. And as he stared into those cold, calculating eyes, he knew that he would need to tread carefully if he hoped to escape the clutches of the man he had once loved.
