Fighting against the hunger gnawing at my stomach and the exhaustion weighing down my limbs, I scoured every corner of the basement for any possible exit. My fingers traced along the cold, damp walls, searching for any hidden crevice or loose panel that could lead to freedom. Every creak of the floorboards and every distant sound from above made my heart race with anticipation and fear.

After what felt like an eternity of fruitless searching, My hand brushed against a loose brick in the wall. With a surge of adrenaline, I pushed against it, revealing a small opening that led to a narrow crawl space. Ignoring the darkness and the cramped space, I squeezed through, my determination overpowering his discomfort.

As I crawled forward, the musty smell of damp earth filled my nostrils, and my muscles screamed with exertion. But I pushed through the pain, driven by the thought of seeing Vegas again. With each inch he moved closer to freedom, his hope grew stronger, fueling his determination to escape from the nightmare that had become his reality.

As I arrived at Ben's house, my heart pounded with urgency. I moved swiftly and silently, my senses alert for any sign of danger. With each step, my determination to find Pete grew stronger, overriding any fear or hesitation.

As I navigated through the dark corridors of the house, my grip tightened on my weapon, killing  whoever dared to stand in my way. Every shadow seemed to conceal a potential threat, and I remained vigilant, my instincts sharp and focused.

Finally, I reached the basement, the last place I expected to find Pete.My heart raced as I descended into the basement, my footsteps echoing off the cold, damp walls. With each step, ny worry for Pete intensified, fueling my determination to find him no matter what. As I reached the bottom of the stairs, I scanned the dimly lit space, my eyes searching desperately for any sign of Pete.

But as I swept my gaze across the room, all I found was an empty space, devoid of any trace of Pete's presence. A sinking feeling settled in the pit of my stomach, mingled with frustration and concern. I clenched my fists, my mind racing with a thousand questions and fears.

"Damn it, Pete," I muttered under my breath, a mixture of relief and frustration washing over him. "Where are you?" Determined not to give up, I pressed on, my resolve unwavering as I continued my search, determined to bring Pete back to safety, no matter the cost.

Pete pov

As my fingers brushed against something cold and hard in the darkness, a shiver ran down his spine. Pulling my hand back, I stared in horror at the object in his grasp. In the dim light filtering through the trees, I could make out the unmistakable shape of bones.

My heart racing, my mind raced with terrifying possibilities. Am I standing in a graveyard? Were these human remains? Panic surged within me as I realized the gravity of his situation. He had escaped the confines of Ben's house only to stumble into another nightmare.

Gritting his teeth, I fought to steady my breathing, my mind racing with fear and uncertainty. Every rustle of leaves and creak of branches sent a chill down my spine, amplifying the sense of dread that hung heavy in the air.

Despite my trembling legs and the overwhelming fear gnawing at my insides, I refused to succumb to despair. With every stumble and falter, I gritted my teeth and pushed myself to my feet again, determined to escape the ominous darkness that surrounded me.

I froze as the sound of footsteps echoed through the graveyard, sending a chill down my spine. My heart pounded in my chest, each beat a drumming reminder of my perilous situation. Panic threatened to consume me as I strained to see through the darkness, searching for any sign of the approaching figure.

Every instinct screamed at me to run, to flee from whatever danger lurked in the shadows. But fear rooted me to the spot, rendering me helpless as the footsteps drew closer and closer.

I held my breath, his senses on high alert as the unknown presence drew nearer. With trembling hands, I grasped the pointed stone, my knuckles white with tension. Adrenaline surged through my veins as I prepared to defend myself against the approaching threat. I wanted to run, but I knew I had nowhere to run.

As the footsteps drew nearer, my grip on the stone tightened, my muscles coiled like a spring ready to be released. My heart raced in my chest, each beat echoing in my ears like a drumbeat of impending danger.

When the figure finally came into view, my breath caught in his throat. With a fierce resolve, I raised the stone, my arm poised to strike at a moment's notice.

My heart sank as I realized it was Vegas pointing the gun at him. My hands trembled, and the stone slipped from my grasp, clattering to the ground as I stared wide-eyed at Vegas. The sight of Vegas, covered in blood once more, sent a chill down my spine, filling him with a mixture of fear and relief.

"Vegas," I whispered, my voice barely above a trembling breath. I couldn't tear my gaze away from the gun pointed at me, my mind racing with a thousand thoughts and questions.

Vegas's eyes widened at the sight of me, and for a moment, a flicker of recognition and concern crossed his blood-streaked face.

Relief flooded through me as Vegas lowered the gun, the tension in the air dissipating slightly. He took a shaky step forward, his hands trembling at his sides.

"Vegas, it's me," I said, his voice hoarse with emotion. "I... I thought I'd never see you again."

Vegas's expression softened slightly as he looked at me, his eyes betraying a mix of relief and concern. He holstered his gun and took a cautious step towards me, as if afraid i might disappear if he moved too quickly.

"I'm here, Pete," Vegas said quietly, his voice filled with a hint of regret. "I came to find you."

I couldn't stop the tears from welling up in my eyes as I looked at Vegas, overwhelmed by a rush of conflicting emotions. Relief, fear, and a profound sense of longing warred within me as I reached out tentatively towards Vegas.

"I... I thought you hated me," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. "After everything..."

Vegas's expression softened even further, and he reached out to grasp my trembling hand gently in his own.

"I could never hate you, Pete," Vegas said, his voice barely audible over the sound of their ragged breaths. "I'm here to protect you, no matter what."

i was trembling uncontrollably as I looked at Vegas, my emotions overwhelming me. Without hesitation, I rushed forward and enveloped Vegas in a tight embrace. Vegas, surprised by the sudden gesture, hesitated for a moment before returning the hug, wrapping his arms around me protectively.

I am all covered in mud right now", I said.
"Don't worry about that, Pete," Vegas said softly, his voice filled with warmth and sincerity. "I don't care about the mud or the blood. All that matters is that you're safe."

I felt tears pricking at the corners of his eyes as I buried my face in Vegas's shoulder, clinging to him as if my life depended on it.

In that moment, as they stood together amidst the darkness of the graveyard, Pete felt a flicker of hope ignite within him. Despite the darkness that surrounded them, he knew that as long as Vegas was by his side, he wasn't alone.
