Jin leans in closer to Macau, his expression tense with worry. "I just have a bad feeling about this, Macau. Vegas isn't acting like himself tonight. It's like he's hiding something behind that smile."Macau nods, understanding Jin's concern. "I get what you mean, Jin. But remember, Vegas would never jeopardize Pete's safety. He may have his own ways, but he's always had Pete's best interests at heart."
Jin sighs, still unconvinced. "I hope you're right, Macau. But we need to keep a close eye on things tonight. I don't want any surprises."
Macau nods in agreement, his gaze fixed on Vegas across the room. "I'll keep an eye on him. And if anything seems off, we'll intervene."
Vegas finally extricates himself from the meeting and saunters over to Macau and Jin, noticing the tension in their expressions. "Why the long faces, gentlemen?" he quips, a hint of amusement in his voice.
Jin's response is sharp. "Why shouldn't we be tense when we've got a family member like you, Vegas?"
Vegas rolls his eyes at Jin's remark.
Before anyone could comprehend what was happening, a deafening blast echoed through the room, sending people into a panicked frenzy, scattering in all directions.
Macau quickly turned towards Vegas, his voice edged with frustration, "You promised me you would do nothing, Vegas. What the hell is this?"
Vegas replied with a smirk, "But in a way, I did nothing. I'm standing right in front of you, right?"
Before Macau could continue, Vegas walked away, disappearing into the crowd. Jin shook his head in exasperation, "Why does Vegas love to make me work even at parties? If he wasn't my brother-in-law, he wouldn't have survived."

As Ben hurried towards the emergency exit, Vegas followed closely behind, observing his panicked movements. "Why are you running like that, Ben? Need some help in escaping?" Vegas called out, his tone laced with sarcasm.
Hearing Vegas' voice behind him, Ben quickened his step, but before he could react, Vegas caught up to him and slammed him against the wall.
Ben looked at Vegas defiantly. "If you're thinking I will tell you about your dear darling's whereabouts, then you are wrong. You can kill me if you want to."
Vegas replied coldly, "Don't worry about me killing you. You were supposed to die years ago."
Ben smiled sarcastically. "What, you're going to kill me like you killed your own father?"
Vegas smirked back. "Maybe worse than that."
"I am asking one last time,Where is pete?"
Vegas stared at Ben intently. "I don't think you need to know. You probably already found out. You just need confirmation from me, right?"Vegas didn't say anything as he took his knife from his pocket and pressed it against Ben's neck, drawing a small cut. Ben winced in pain, but Vegas continued, his voice dripping with anger and accusation.
"You never learned your lesson, did you? Vegas said feeling the anger remembering the past.
"That night wasn't my doing. It was your father who killed his parents",Ben replied. And you helped him by keeping an eye on me. You were the reason he found out about everything." Vegas saidSo what, In this life you can't think of having a lover do you think even if you kill me now, you can have your happily every after with pete. That's impossible, if not me someone else will kill him and what you will do when Pete get to know your father killed his parents. He will hate you. With each word from Ben, Vegas's anger surged. He couldn't bear the thought of losing Pete, but Ben's words gnawed at him.
"Farewell", Vegas said, pressing the knife deeper. As Ben's blood flowed, Vegas's rage intensified until it consumed him. He kept stabbing, each blow fueled by fury until Ben's form was unrecognizable, a twisted reflection of his past sins.Vegas's resolve solidified as he gazed at Ben's lifeless form. "I don't care if Pete forgives me or not," he muttered to himself. "But I want Pete to be safe and happy, no matter what." With that determination fueling him, Vegas slipped away, confident that Macau and Jin would manage the chaos erupting at the party. His singular focus now was to save Pete, whatever the cost.
Pete pov
I've lost track of the days since Vegas' accident. Ben, the man who brought me to his home and locked me in his basement, hasn't shown any sign of letting me go. No one has visited me, not that I wanted them to. I haven't eaten in days, and my body feels weak. Every movement is exhausting, but I can't bring myself to care. All I can think about is Vegas. Has he recovered? Is he alright? I hope nothing happened to him. Does he hate me now? These thoughts consume me, leaving me in a state of despair.
Despite his weakened state and the grim circumstances, Pete resolved not to let Ben determine his fate. With determination burning in his heart, he began to search for a way to escape from the basement. Every movement was a struggle, his body protesting with each step, but he pushed on, driven by the desire to break free from captivity. His mind raced with thoughts of Vegas and the need to ensure his safety, fueling his determination to find a route to freedom.
