Okay so pretend Abeke & Lishay were part of the group when the 4 Fallen first came to Greenhaven, and none of them have met Zerif yet. Well actually... pretend a majority of everything hasn't happened yet lol.

TW: a foreshadowing of what happens to Tarik, a little bit of blood. YEE-

I don't normally do 3rd person so... desperate try??

< Tarik >

"So, could you run the plan by us one more time?" Tarik glared in Conor's direction, not happy that he hadn't been listening. The young boy had been too preoccupied with rolling a fruit around for Briggan. Yeah- nobody knows why he was doing so in the first place.

"You know, traditionally, the mentees listen to the debriefing provided by the mentor so they don't die." Tarik sighed, tapping his fingers on the table.

Rollan scoffed at this. "Please. We're checking a junkyard for some stupid relic everyone forgot about, how dangerous can that be?" Olvan had assigned them a trial mission- retrieving a medallion from some ruins on Amaya.

Meilin, annoyed, picked up a wooden figure off of the table and threw it at him. It connected and he grumbled, "Hey, what was that for?", rubbing his cheek. Today wasn't going as planned for the poor boy.

"Don't pay any mind to this idiot, he's just upset his bird girlfriend is in a mood."

Rollan was about to protest Meilin's response, but Tarik interrupted him. "What do you mean?"

"Well, see, Rollan had a fight with Essix. I don't think they know what it was about at this point, but he believes she's being stuck up and she believes he's a jerk. Which is valid." Abeke explained. Conor grinned a little, shooting a teasing eye towards Rollan, who glared at the two.

"Bird brain," Rollan muttered under his breath, which warranted a certain bird to swoop down and peck the back of his head. "Ow! Essix, what the heck!"

A smile pulled at the edge of the other kid's lips and Tarik turned his attention to Conor, who was desperately trying to hold in a fit of laughter. "So you two can retain information about a quarrel between a gyrfalcon and a boy, but not the debriefing?"

They both shrugged, with a look that said pretty much. Briggan came out of seemingly nowhere, jumping up onto the meeting room table and offering a spit-licked berry to Abeke. "Oh, Briggan that's so sweet. But I'm uh- not eating that." She cooed lovingly, laying a delicate hand on his fur, and once again ignoring the conversation.

"Sometimes I wonder how you all got here." Tarik places his face in his hands. These kids were yet to reach their potential. It was their forth mission, second as a complete team, and they still hadn't learned to take the Greencloak name seriously yet.

"You seem to forget that they're kids, Tarik." Lishay entered. She wore hunting leather vest that clashed against the black braid draping off of her shoulder, and a leaping tiger evidently splayed across her forearm as she waved in Meilin's direction. It had been a couple days since they had seen her, and even Rollan nodded a greeting. Lishay's braid whipped behind her and she gives Tarik a scornful expression. I'm in for it now. He thought.

"You're right. I'm being unfair, aren't I?" Tarik conceded, narrowly avoiding an angry Lishay.

The 4 Fallen hadn't yet had a chance to prove themselves. This mission was only a test of their abilities, and although he seemed to treat everything as the real deal, it was but fair he didn't put so much pressure on the new recruits. For crying out loud, they had JUST showed up at Greenhaven two weeks ago.
