*Third Person's POV*

"Hey, Baby, I am at the park. Where are you?" Y/N questioned her girlfriend over the phone.

"Take the second left from the entrance, Baby. I am already here," came Jennie's response.

It was a chilly, windy April night, close to midnight. There was barely any human in sight, and the only thing that kept Jennie company, while she waited for her girlfriend, was the chirping of crickets and her uneasy thoughts. Her mind was so fogged and confused that she felt frustrated for not knowing the actual reason for her uneasiness.

Jennie was dressed heavily in her oversized hoodie, two jackets, hand gloves, a scarf, a cap, and a mask, not just to beat the cold but also to avoid any eyes that were wide awake at this time. Initially, she had only thought about a walk to get a breather instead of being confined behind four walls. But as she walked down the lonely streets, her heart yearned for the only person who was capable of putting it in its place. So, she had to call Y/N over, who, obviously, was willing to go to her despite any circumstances.

Seven minutes into the call earlier, she spotted the tall figure of her girlfriend walking towards her, dressed similarly to her, except for nothing to cover her face.

Jennie took off her mask before getting up from her seat and hugged Y/N as soon as she got closer. Though the latter knew that her girlfriend was naturally clingy, she could very much distinguish when Jennie needed attention and when she needed comfort. Right now, the idol wanted the latter.

Y/N ran her gloved hand through Jennie's head and patted slowly. She didn't ask anything. She just held the cat-eyed girl in her arms like a fragile treasure.

Once she felt Jennie's hold loosen on her, she knew it was her cue to speak.

"Want to sit down, Baby?" The champion questioned. Jennie nodded against her chest.

As the two of them sat back on the bench, Jennie snaked her hand inside Y/N's jacket and hugged her waist, nuzzling to the latter's warmth. Y/N threw her hands around the idol, holding her close and patting her thighs.

"Tomorrow is a big day, Baby. Is that what's making you restless?" Y/N asked softly, knowing that the announcement of Jennie's own label, Odd Atelier, was scheduled for tomorrow.

Jennie nodded softly, clutching onto the sides of the tall girl's jacket.

"Why?"

"I feel anxious, Y/N. I don't know how people are going to take it! What if no one will be happy for me?!" Her hold tightened with each sentence, and Y/N could feel it.

"Jennie," called Y/N, slightly pulling away and cupping her face. The cat-eyes girl looked up at her girlfriend like a hopeful pet. "Baby, there's no reason for you to be anxious about it. Have you not heard that hard work pays off? You have worked harder than anyone I have known, Jennie, and I know better than anyone what all you had to leave behind for you to walk up to your dream."

Jennie felt her eyes stung because of the earnestness she felt in Y/N's words, but at the same time, her belief that Y/N had no idea that it was herself Jennie had to leave behind, pierced through the short girl's heart.

"None of that will go to waste, Baby," continued Y/N. "You still have much more to achieve, and you are going to touch every single word of success that a generation will look up to you one day, Baby."

"You think so?" The idol asked, sniffling.

Y/N nodded. "Jennie Kim is so much more capable than how she likes to think of herself. It's okay if you feel stressed or anxious or pressured, my love. It's all a part of a bad night before a beautiful sunrise. You just need to sleep through it."

Jennie smiled before leaning in to peck right below Y/N's lips.

"Thank you, Baby! For saying all that. I don't know what I'd have done without you. I was feeling so breathless just moments before you came."

"I am glad, my love. I always want you to be happy and feel at ease. And I will do whatever it takes to make sure of that." Y/N whispered, kissing both of Jennie's cheeks.

The cat-eyed girl smiled again, placing her head back on Y/N's chest, her heart a lot more peaceful and organized than it was before, prepared for the next day.

"Did you have dinner, Sweetheart?" Y/N asked softly.

Jennie shook her head.

"Now, that's something that needs to be taken care of instantly." The tall girl chirped, jumping up from the bench and holding out her hand for her girlfriend. "Come on."

They went to the nearest convenience store for an instant dinner, and Y/N made sure that Jennie walked to the entrance of her dorm.

"Good night, Darling. Sleep well and don't stress about tomorrow, okay?" Y/N said, kissing the idol's forehead.

Jennie nodded. "Go back safe, okay? I am sorry you had to come–" She was cut off when Y/N placed her index finger over her lips.

"Uh-Uh!" The tall girl shook her head. "Don't you dare apologize for wanting to see your girlfriend."

Both of them smiled.

"Go inside, Baby. I will get a cab and text you when I am home."

The cat-eyed girl nodded again, reluctantly pulling away from her girlfriend, and walking to the entrance.

Y/N waited until the short girl walked inside, and Jennie made sure to turn back and wave before completely disappearing from Y/N's sight. As soon as the idol plopped onto the bed, she fell asleep quickly — something that was difficult for her a few hours ago — with a smile on her face.

The following morning, Jennie woke up refreshed. She checked her phone first, and best wishes for the day were already awaiting her from her girl. The cat-eyed girl smiled, responding with a thank you and I love you. She climbed down the bed and stretched before walking inside the bathroom.

She made a mental note of everything she had to do for the day, but it was all drastically going to change by the time she stepped out.

Her bandmates were waiting for her in the room, and all of them had an expression Jennie had never seen on them. Even Jisoo looked puzzled.

"What happened, Girls? What's wrong?" Jennie tried her best to make herself sound excited, despite her heart picking up to the tension in the air.

"Unnie..." The Thai girl's voice trailed off as she handed Jennie her phone with an article displayed on the screen, which was trending at an international level at the moment.

Jennie began to tremble, tears falling down her feline eyes just as she went through the first few lines.
