I felt my heart break into a sprint. my palms were sweating. I wanted to scream, but nothing came out. I should have grabbed my sister and ran, but I was frozen. They were coming at us and I stood there helpless and frozen with fear.
"BEEP, BEEP, BEEP," my alarm clock sounded, waking me up on a Saturday. I was in my bed safe and sound, but something about my dream was bugging me. My breathing was still uneven, as I reminded myself that it was just a nightmare.
"You know we don't have school today," Sam shouted at me as she walked into my room. Sam is my twin sister. We look similar, but you can tell us apart. We both have long, brown, wavy hair and we both are a bout the same height. We both have brown eyes. Although, all that is the same you can look at our faces and tell us apart.
Sam cleared her throat. She looked at me awaiting an apology.
"Yeah, um I forgot to turn my alarm clock off, sorry," I mumbled barely looking at her.
"Are you okay," she questioned. I wanted to tell her about my nightmare but she takes things way to seriously. Telling her would be stupid and she would freak out over nothing.
"I'm just worried about mom and dad leaving for their second honey moon today. It's silly I know. We are 17 and Chris is coming home to look after us anyways," I lied smoothly. I let out a small giggle at the thought that our parents still want our older brother to come home from college and look after us even though we are practically adults.
Sam laughed, "You're really worried about that. You're lame." I laughed with her. One thing I love about Sam is that she is easy to lie to.
"Good, you guys are awake. Your father and I are leaving soon. Chris should be here this evening," my mom said walking into the room.
"Alright sounds good," Sam answered as she walked out of my room with my mom. I slowly got out of bed and made my way downstairs for breakfast. I just couldn't forget my dream. Something about it was nagging me.
