AUTHOR"S NOTE: so this is my first book and I'm liking it so far but comment what you guys think. I really hope you guys are enjoying this:)

Jeremy burst through the door. He ignored me standing there and walked straight to Alex.

"What are doing here," Jeremy questioned trying to sound calm but a hostile tone in his voice was still there.

"Calm down, man I am just talking to an old friend," Alex answered. His words sounded as if they had a double meaning.

"Then what was the need for locking the door," Jeremy harshly remarked. Alex gave him an annoyed look. They stood there for what seemed like hours having some kind of silent eye communication.

"Jeremy, this is a," I hesitated. I was still uncertain if I would forgive Alex, but I spoke anyways, "this is a friend of mine, Alex." He looked at me questioningly only for a moment before I gave him a small nod letting him know he was forgiven. Pure joy filled his eyes. I just hope I won't regret that. Jeremy looked back and forth between us, before walking towards me.

"I'm sorry" he said sweetly. I laughed as wrapped his arms around me and kissed my cheek. I notice how he never directly apologized to Alex.

"Well I should probably get going. I just moved into an apartment not too far from here and I have a lot of unpacking to do," Alex said.

"You're staying," I asked. I couldn't help but feel a little excited. I missed him, surprisingly. I don't love him anymore, I can't, but having him back as a friend would be amazing.

"Yeah, I guess I am," he smiled running his hand through his short, black hair.

"Well I'm sure you have a bunch of things to unpack and its getting late," Jeremy carefully spoke trying not to seem rude.

"It's only 1:30 in the morning," I argued. They both laughed.

"No Jeremy is right. I need to go," Alex said through his big grin.

"Alright, well see you tomorrow," I said hugging Alex. He wrapped his arms around me tightly before letting go. He almost looked pained as he walked out of my bedroom. Jeremy stared at the door until he was sure Alex wasn't coming back.

Jeremy looked down at me. "Sorry," he apologized again, "I just got jealous. I shouldn't have but I just love you more than you will ever know." I giggled like a little school girl. He wrapped his arms around me holding me tightly. My face was buried in his chest. I breathed in. I loved the way he smelled. His scent calmed me and felt like home. He kissed the top of my head. He let go and stepped back. I couldn't help but let out a little groan. I loved when he held me and hated it when he let me go. He laughed and kissed my pouting lips. I honestly can not believe we have been dating for only a year and six months. We were so close it felt like I have known him forever.

"Chris is looking for you," he mumbled against my lips.

"Well let him look," I whispered. I didn't want to leave this moment. He laughed and grabbed my hand. We walked through the house holding hands looking for Chris. I wasn't exactly looking, but Jeremy was. He has only met my brother twice and somehow they were best friends. We walked out back to see Sam completely drunk. She was yelling from the roof about how she was going to jump into the pool from up there. I wasn't concerned because she has done this before. Jeremy pulled me over to where Chris was standing. I laughed at Chris's worried face.

"There you are," Chris said relieved as he pulled me into a giant bear hug. He didn't seem mad at all, which shocked me. He seemed scared and worried. He looked at Jeremy and they nodded at each other as if they had some kind of silent agreement about something.

"You should go stop your sister," Chris told me.

"She your sister too," I sassed back at him.

"Uh yeah, right," He mumbled as if he actually forgot. I stared at him for a minute. His hair was still short and dirty blonde and he was still pale. His muscles were a little more toned then last time I saw him, but he still looked the same. He was acting completely different, though. He seemed worried, tensed, and kind of scared. Usually he would yell at us for throwing a party then grab a beer and hit on some half naked girl. I looked up at Jeremy. He had his arms around my waist and I could tell he was tense too. His face wore a worried expression.

I opened my mouth to ask what was wrong but I was interrupted by a loud splash in the pool. My eyes focused on Sam climbing out of the pool. Boys were swarming her as she walked over to us.

"It's two in the damn morning Sam," Chris said sternly, "party is over." He walked inside and turned the stereo off. The DJ left a little past midnight. "Everybody out," Chris shouted. His voice was so loud China could probably hear him. People fled from the house as fast as they could.

"Well I'm going to go to bed. Goodnight," I yawned. I looked at Jeremy.

"I'll be up in a minute baby girl," he whispered. He hugged me then kissed my forehead. He looked sad.

"It's only a minute," I teased. His expression quickly changed as if he didn't know he looked sad. He weakly smiled at me as I turned and helped Sam up the stairs. I barely got Sam into her bed, before she passed out. I walked into my room and turned the lights off. I found my bed and flopped down on it. I didn't realize how tired I was until now. It's been a long day.

I was curled up facing the wall, when I heard the door creak open. I smiled, thinking Jeremy was trying to be quiet.

"I'm awake, Jer. You don't have to be quiet." I laughed sitting up. I looked at the door and realized it wasn't Jeremy standing there.

"Hello, Elena," an unfamiliar voice spoke. His voice had a hint of evil to it. I turned my lamp on. I looked back up and the man was right in front of me. He reached his hand out for me.

"Who the hell are you," I shouted moving backwards. My hand searched for the bat I keep behind my bed.

"I'm truly sorry but I have to do my job," he smiled. I gripped the bat firmly. He bared fangs and moved quickly trying to grab me. I screamed and swung the bat as hard as I could. He stumbled backwards. I saw a cut on his head from where I hit him. Blood dripped from his head. He feel to the floor. Did I just hurt or worse kill somebody? I looked at the body. His chest wasn't moving. Strands of his blonde hair had blood in it. I cautiously inched towards his body. I froze when I saw the blood was already dry. The cut was missing from his head. Suddenly, in one fluid motion, he rose from the ground and tossed me over his shoulder. I dropped the bat when he did that. It was at such a quick speed I still can't believe it happened.

"You shouldn't have done that, my little rose," he said. I didn't need to see his face to know he was smirking, "Don't try that again or I might have to kill you and I don't want to kill you because you're the key." Suddenly, I felt a jerking motion and I was against a wall. Jeremy stood in a protective crouching position in front of me.

"Stay away from her," Jeremy growled. I shuddered at the sound of his voice. It was filled with pure anger. The blonde man lunged at Jeremy. They began fighting at supernatural speeds. My eyes couldn't keep up. I saw the man on top of Jeremy he was holding what looked like a wooden stake. I let out a scream knowing this man was going to kill Jeremy.
