The Ball Room is not as I would have expected it to have been. A golden floor that snakes into an amber colour as you glance up at the walls. Pictures of people of whom I do not know are stood present at the front of the room where there is a slight crowd of on lookers.

There is a small seating area up ahead where people can relax and enjoy a drink in their hand and speaking of drinks there is in fact a mini bar to the left that is home to quite a few men.

All this worrying about my dress was for nothing as not one single person has looked my way. Ladies of all kinds wear dresses big and small that differentiate in colour which just makes my dress any other dress and I feel so much relief.

I have a glass of champagne in my hand and I go to sip at it but then change my mind. I want to remain sober for this and I don't really think I like champagne, it has a funny smell.

I swirl it around the glass trying not to seem as bored as I feel and opt to looking out the French doors. Snowflakes fall heavily outside and gently land on the ground and I would give anything at this point to just stand out there and catch the snow in my hands.

Your mother never let you do that!

Don't think of her.

To distract myself I look for the guys amongst the crowd of swirling bodies and I spot Damien already speaking with Sir and Lady, Lucy and Ross. They are just as sophisticated as Eric made out and yet they look pleasantly content when speaking with Damien which is quite the surprise. Kingston is at the bar with a glass of Whiskey in his hands and girl chatters beside him.

He doesn't seem interested and is only half listening so I wave in his direction and of course he winks back. Alex is stood near to the Sir and Lady but busies himself by talking with the other young men but glances at Damien every so often because Damien will signal when Alex needs to cause the distraction.

Max is stood where he should be and stands against the wall like me but he actually sips his champagne and when he locks eyes with mine he raises his glass in greeting and I do it back. I am blessed with a small smile from his lips but I force away the butterflies that I feel in my stomach.

"I take it you're not a party girl then," says a voice next to me. I jump and almost spill my champagne all over me.

"What the hell," I exclaim turning next to me but I relax when I recognise the face before me. Complete with a thin scar from eye to chin is Aldo and he's grinning at me in his black suit. His tattoos just peak over the collar.

"This isn't exactly a party," I comment swirling my glass.

He laughs, "I'm not a party man myself but I do come here to make an appearance." He then scans me with a frown. "Why are you here though?"
