Chuuya's POV

I woke up to a familiar warmth surrounding my body. As I rubbed my eyes open, I realized that the source of warmth was a white fluffy blanket.

I secretly wished that it was something else. Someone else. I don't remember going to sleep in my bed, I don't really remember much at all.

My arm was lathered with a few little wounds. I don't recall being similar to the mummified zombie and cutting myself, but at least the cuts were cleaned.

The one thing I did remember is that he decided to take his leave yesterday night. It was expected, I was just too stupid and blinded to see it.

What happened to 'if I don't give anyone my trust, then no one can break it'? Fool is the first word that comes to mind. Only a fool would be so careless with someone as fragile as trust. I was such a fool for him.

The alcohol has worn off, leaving me with a huge headache and some thoughts that were staring to unravel. I have always thought that the popular phrase 'my heart aches' was just an absurd metaphor said in vain.

Until now, my heart really was aching. Realization sunk in as my brain was processing what happened yesterday. It's like getting poked with one thousand needles over and over again in the same spot.

The organ that's used to provide blood felt like it was absorbing everything but good. The blood was sending throbbing pain all throughout my veins, not a single spot was free from torment.

It's like throwing rocks at a preserved painting and watching each individual brush mark chip away into nothingness. It felt so empty, so hollow.

As if I really wasn't a human. The only thing dragging me away from the inhuman void was the strained stings I would feel once in a while.

The only thing defining me as human was the agony I had experienced. That sounds about right, the fragment that makes all humans up is the suffering they had gone through.

Being upset over someone leaving you? Grow up. Everyone has gone through it, why can't you? After all, this is small compared to what others are going through. Weak.

You aren't qualified to count as a human if you aren't willing to go through labor. There's something interesting and fascinating about humans. One thing that many of them share in common.

They have too much sympathy for one another.

Dazai is different, different from many I had met. He's an irresponsible insolent bandage wasting device that turns out to be rather mischievous. I hate to admit it, but I might just enjoy his annoying company a little bit.

Every gifted one has a fatal flaw. One so tragic that they cannot escape their fate. His fatal flaw is recluse. Keeping everything to himself, he never tells you what's wrong until it's too late.

Like a cat.

I'll miss you more than anything.

.

After giving myself a little mental pep talk earlier, I decided to head to work. I can live without him, not everything revolves around him. I shouldn't change my usual habits just because of him.

I grabbed my keys off the table and left through the front door. As I was about to go in my car, it quite literally blew up. I used my gravity ability to levitate into the sky while the force of the bomb sent me back. Motorcycle it is.

The moment I entered the doors, Kouyou came up to me. "Mori has requested you to his office, it's probably not something good" she reported.

I headed to his office using the elevators we had. When I arrived, Mori was waiting for me while sipping on some sort of tea or coffee. "Boss, how can I help you?" I asked.

"I think you may of heard of Dazai's disappearance am I right?" I nodded in response. "We have lost two great members of the Port Mafia in one night, Odasaku and Dazai. So, we might be a little short in men" he stated.

"Now, the question is, do you know where he is?" he asked. "No, I don't know where he is" I answered. He took a long inspection of my face and probably determined that I wasn't lying.

"Very well then" he replied. As I was about to exit the door, he suddenly stopped me. "I almost forgot, I also have a small mission for you. Akutagawa will go with you, please teach him some more Port Mafia basics today" he requested.

.

7 years into the future

"I can't believe he actually fell for that. Our goals of the mission was to either get the page or find out his motives, we achieved both of them. We destroyed the page and now we know what he's planning for the future" Dazai signed.

"Why are you surprised? Is he really that big of a mastermind?" I questioned. "No, thats not why. It's because of your awkward 'acting' Chuuya" he giggled.

"You didn't even look sad at all when I was 'dying'. No tears, no words, not even a worried face-" I stopped him. "My acting was bad? Did you see yourself?" I scoffed.

"I could see your reflection while I was looking out the window, you just randomly dropped down on the ground and laid still. You're supposed to be poisoned, not shocked by thunder" I hissed.

"Looks like your attitude is still just as bad. Not a lot changed huh" he started looking at me from top to bottom. A few seconds later, I realized what he meant. "You piece of-" I started throwing a punch at him.

"Hey hey, there are other people here. Don't say dirty words and violence is bad" he caught my arm. "Since when did you become all unicorns and rainbows?" I rolled my eyes.

"Out of everyone here, you have probably committed the most crimes" I pulled my arm away from him grasp. "Since a long time ago. Speaking of which, where's Atsushi? He's been gone for a long time" he asked.

"He's right here" Akutagawa walked in carrying the were-tiger on his back. I had been so distracted by this idiot I haven't even realized that Akutagawa left the room.

"What happened to him?" I questioned. "It was one of the nine-tailed foxes. They put him to sleep but his chest is still rising" I looked over to Dazai. He looked stunned, his eyes were wide open as he just stared at the were-tiger.
