Chuuya's POVAfter a few hours just sitting in the cafe and chatting about stupid stuff, we decided to get going since we had work at 6 pm and it was already 5:24 pm. We might get kicked out if we stayed for any longer since we were causing a scene in the cafe.
When we arrived at the Port Mafia building, I was debating on either putting on the coffee drenched scarf, or getting humiliated for my neck. The choker on my neck wasn't helping. It was only covering a small portion of the bruises.
"Aren't you going to take that off Chibi?" he gestured to my scarf. "Oh for fucks sake, this is all your fault" I mumbled to myself as I unwrapped the scarf showing my neck that was lathered with red marks.
As we entered the building, I could feel people's eyes on me. Suddenly, Ane-san came up to me "My my, what happened to you?" she was looking over my neck that I failed to cover with my hair. Maybe I should start growing it out.
Think of an excuse, think of an excuse. "It was some mosquitos, you know how they are" I replied nervously. "In the middle of winter? That's rather surprising" she mused. I could hear Dazai giggling behind me.
I walked off to my office. Thankfully, no one bothered me today after that and Mori didn't submerge me in missions. It was just a regular day of paperwork.
If I'm being honest, I actually like missions more than paperwork. I hate sitting around all day like a subordinate being useless. Beating up random people is also fun. And I like going on missions with Dazai. Not because I like him, just because he makes it more entertaining.
.
After a boring day of sitting in an office, my shift was finally over. As Dazai was driving us home, I realized he took a wrong turn to who knows where.
"Where the fuck are we going?" I asked. "What? Can I not just take a wrong turn on accident?" he replied. "Just tell me where we are going you asshole" we turned into the rural side of Yokohama where there was no tall city buildings.
"Okay fine, I'm actually taking you to an underground doctor to sell your body parts on the black market. You don't need all your kidneys, you can live just fine with one" he whispered. "The fuck? Isn't that just Mori?" he just laughed.
He started slowing down the car, hitting the brakes. There were no other cars here aside from us. After parking the car on a random side of the road, I noticed we were next to a flower field. A flower field of camelias to be specific. There were camelias of many different colors. But two stood out the most.
Brown and orange.
"Why are we here? It's literally 2am, I just want to sleep" I whined. "Didn't you say your favorite flower was the camellia? We have the same favorite flower and I just happened to hear about this place" he replied.
"You seriously remember that?" I mumbled. "Isn't the night sky so beautiful?" he asked. I looked at the sky. It really was a masterpiece.
Like him.
The stars were spotted visible without the massive amount of city smoke covering them. Some people would be so wonderful and admirable without others hiding their success and dragging them down. Like two specific teenagers.
"They really are" I whispered as I stared at the night sky that seemed to glow with sparkling chandeliers everywhere. Suddenly, he went to the backseat of his Porsche and took out a thick blanket and a big white fluffy blanket.
The same one that sat on his bed every night. Along with that, he also took out a bottle of wine. Romanée-Conti 1945, my favorite though I never tried one yet.
They are rare, averaging over $500,000 thousand dollars. Not that I couldn't afford them, I just couldn't find the opportunity to lay my hands on one.
"What are you doing? It's the middle of the night" I questioned. "It's nothing, why not enjoy ourselves for one night? After all, we have been working hard these past few weeks trying to protect Yokohama from the ancient monsters" he shrugged.
"I mean, you did say you weren't a light drinker. If what you claim is true, then one bottle of wine shouldn't be a problem" he smirked. I could tell he was testing me. However, I'm not one to back out on a bet. I'm not one to back out on anything.
Dazai's POV
"Want to play a little game? It's fairly simple, we each take sips out of this bottle. First one to get drunk or back out loses, though I doubt you would back out on anything" I smiled.
"You talking like I'm going to lose is really starting to piss me off" I was met with an angry Chuuya. I opened the bottle and took the first sip. It tasted expensive, probably because it was. The wine was strong, but not too strong.
Then, Chuuya took a sip. He took a sip from the same bottle as me. Whatever, it's not like we haven't kissed before. After a few rounds of passing the bottle, it was already almost finished.
Chuuya's face was getting red, his face always does when he gets drunk. "I win, you're drunk Chuuya" I smiled as I lifted a napkin to his face, wiping off some wine that he spilled. "I am not!" he struggled to get out.
"Shh.. be quiet" I placed him on top of the thick blanket and tucked him under the fluffy one. "It's getting kind of late huh? I say we shouldn't drive drunk" I whispered as I also got under the blanket.
The night sky was a mix of purple and blue, it looked like the actual galaxy from outer space. That's how beautiful he is, he is as beautiful as the number of stars in space. An unlimited amount of beauty, an indescribable amount of beauty. The moonlight reflected on his gorgeous blue eyes, making them shine even brighter. How can someone be so perfect?
"I love you" he mumbled half asleep.
He loves me? He's so drunk right now that he doesn't know what he's saying. Does he even know what he just said? He probably won't even remember this when he's sober.
"I love you too" I whispered.
If a meteoroid were to hit us right now, I wouldn't complain one bit. My life felt complete right now, I could die for all that matters.
Did I finally find my purpose to live? Maybe it was fate to put us together. So similar yet so different. So wrong yet so right. So much of a little everything.

7 years into the future
But it won't ever be enough.
I signed to myself as I got into the car that we were taking to the coffee shop. Kunikida sat in the drivers seat, I sat in the passenger seat, Yosano, Tanizaki, and Rampo sat in the back seats.
The president didn't come because he had something important to attend to. Kunikida was fussing about us being late or whatever.
By the time we arrived, the Port Mafia members were already waiting outside for us. They brought Mori, Hirotsu, Gin, Akutagawa, and Chuuya.
I haven't seen that ginger in ages, he's still just as short as I remember him. As we sat down and picked a booth, the waitress came and started taking our orders. The place was decorated with a floral vibe.
Flowers and vines hung from the ceiling. There were potted plants everywhere. The wall was wood like how a garden shed usually is. Mori and Kunikida got a americano, Hirotsu got a black coffee, and I got a latte.
The others didn't like coffee very much. Rampo ordered the whole menu of deserts, the bill was going to be expensive. As the drinks arrived, Rampo started talking.
"So, the cause of the ancient monsters over these past seven years is finally revealed. It took about five minutes for me to figure it out" he stated.
"The cause of the ancient monsters is the page. The page of a book that makes anything you write come true. And the possessor of this treasure is no other than the Fyodor Dostoevsky" he signed.
