Dazai's POV

The first thing I saw when I woke up was the bright ceiling lights. The ginger was sitting on a chair next to my bed on his phone doing whatever.

He seemed almost surprised to see me awake. "Finally you're awake, I'll go get the doctor" he mumbled. A few minutes later, a female with short black hair came in.

"You're lucky to be alive, I wasn't going to help you but when a short ginger came pleading to the Armed Detective Agency to save you, I just couldn't refuse" she smirked.

Apparently her name was Yosano and she is one of the best doctors of all of Yokohama. She used to be a Port Mafia doctor, I wonder what happened.

I never really wanted to be in the Port Mafia in the first place. I wish I could just leave too. I only joined to find a purpose to live.

Life seemed so pointless to me and still is. Wake up. Work. Sleep. Repeat. Wake up. Work. Sleep. Repeat. However, I couldn't just leave that hattrack all alone in this hell. No matter how much I hate him I would never do that.

"Anyways, I had to get all the poison out of your system which means I had to do a little damage. You probably won't be able to walk properly for at least a few days, I suggest you stay at home and get some rest" she left the room.

Pfft, me not being able to walk? What type of weakling does she think I am? As I was about to get up, a familiar ginger stormed through the door.

"Mori said you could have some days off. And i'm apparently responsible for your injuries because I am your partner. So, I have to look after you while you heal. According to Mori, looking after someone requires you to stay with them" he complained.

"Chuuyaa pick me up I can't walk" I actually could walk perfectly fine. I just wanted for him to carry me. "Yea yea whatever, remember I am only doing this because of Mori's orders" I wasn't sure if he was reminding me or himself.

"What's wrong is Chuuya having trouble carrying me? Is he really that small and weak?" I teased. "Go fuck off you annoying piece of shit" he grunted as he picked me up.

This time we actually drove a car instead of that crappy motorcycle. As we were heading to my apartment, I saw two little birds out the window.

A sparrow and a robin, chasing each other as if they were playing hide and seek. How beautiful the color of the feathers looked blowing away through the wind.

Brown and orange.

.

After Chuuya finished parking the car, we started heading inside. I held onto his arm for support that I'd didn't need. His parking skills were questionable and I could tell that he was going to get a ticket.

I could only imagine how funny his angry face would be after realizing he got a ticket to get me home safely."How do you know the passcode to my door? Are you stalking me or something" I asked.

"You're acting as if I haven't been here a million times" he replied, clearly annoyed by my presence. "Why do you just have to have only one bed? Where am I supposed to sleep you shitty Dazai" he questioned.

"I don't see the problem in just sleeping together" I smirked. "You bastard! I would rather sleep on the floor than sleep with you" he snapped.

He really stuck to his word. He went out randomly for a whole hour and returned with a huge mattress. His dumbass was trying to figure out how to set up the mattress the whole day while I was laying in my bed scrolling on my phone.

"How the hell am I supposed to set this up? The instructions are stupid!" he yelled from across the house. Our neighbors must be packing right now.

I decided to get up and help him before we got a noise complaint and get kicked out. "So this was all just an act? You are walking on two feet fine right now" he remarked. "Hey you should be happy, I'm getting you free days off work" I responded.

The mattress was quite simple to set up. All you had to do was combine the frames, put the mattress in the sheet, and place the blanket on top.

At this point, it was around 9pm so I decided to make us dinner. I made us some ramen with eggs, spinach, noodles, broth, mushrooms, scallions, chicken, and lastly shrimp.

I learned how to cook from Odasaku. He taught me to make a lot of different foods and I go over to his place every once in a while.

The orphans he raises are always well behaved but ready to tackle me. "I never knew you could cook" the ginger mumbled, with food in his mouth.

"There are lots of things you don't know about me" I smiled. I noticed there was a little bit of sauce on the corner of his mouth, and gently wiped it off with a napkin. "Am I taking care of you or are you taking care of me?" he remarked.

"Considering the fact that you're a small kid, I would say I'm taking care of you" I was met with a angry chibi chasing me around the house and screaming something along the lines of 'I'll kill you damn waste of bandages'.

After he failed to catch me, I decided to just go shower. I enjoy taking burning hot showers. It's like as if all my problems just washed down the drain with the water.

As I stepped out the steaming shower, I ruffled my wet curls with a towel a to dry off the water. I wrapped some bandages around my arms and neck that turned damp immediately.

Guess I'll have to change them later. Then, I wrapped a towel loosely around my waist and headed to my room. "Finally you took foreve-" he just stared at me as if I was an Ancient Greek statue. "Why don't you take a picture? It'll last longer" I teased.

His cheeks flushed a rosy pink color. "I wasn't even looking at you now put some clothes on you half naked idiot" he muttered. I picked out some random plaided pajama pants and was soon met with sleep not long after.
