Third Person POV

"She's alive?!" Liam asked shocked but happy, he didn't really know how to feel at the moment.

"In a way" Diana said nervously

"In a way?" Louis asked confused

"Let's go talk to the doctor Mr. Payne" Diana said opening the door. Liam looked back at his friends who shrugged gesturing for him to go. Liam left following behind Diana towards the surgery ward but passed through towards another hallway then to the ICU. They walked to a room with a doctor standing outside looking at a clipboard.

"Ah Mr. Payne" the doctor looked up from the clipboard

"What's wrong?" he asked getting right to the point

"Well your wife spent a lot of time in surgery and she had some bad injuries. She lost a lot of blood in the surgery"

"What were her injuries?" Liam asked nervously

"Well the window and windshield broke during the crash and a big shard of glass had broke off and unfortunately got stuck in her chest it just missed her heart but it did pierce her lung and blood got in there so that was an issue. But the door got stuck as well and her leg got crushed by the door so her whole right leg is crushed."

"Ok" Liam nodded slowly

"That's not the worst thing though" the doctor said sympathetically "When the car flipped she must have hit her head multiple times and she has severe head trauma. When and if she wakes up, she will most likely have severe amnesia"

"What do you mean if she wakes up?" Liam asked even more nervously

"Your wife is in a coma"

"Liam what's happening?" Zayn asked calmly trying to calm Liam down

"Sophie's in a freaking coma guys. She's unconscious and all this shít happened to her, and I don't know if she's going to live" Liam rambled pacing the hallway where he brought all the boys out

"What do you mean? Please explain a bit more" Louis said slowly trying to make Liam breath

"The doctor said as the car flipped she hit her head a lot and she fell into a coma and if she wakes up she's going to have severe amnesia." He breathed starting to get emotional

"Oh" Niall said sadly

"I-I- um- I'm going to check on Cecilia" Harry said getting chocked up as he pointed to Cecilia's way as he ducked his head down not showing his tears.

"Oh Hazza" Louis said sadly patting Liam's shoulder as he went after his husband

"Li, please calm down" Zayn said grabbing Liam by his shoulders to stop his pacing

"My wife is on her death bed Z" Liam cried falling into Zayn's arms. Zayn sighed sadly holding his best friend close

"Hey now, don't think like that" Zayn rubbed his friend's back trying not to get worked up himself

"It's the truth" Liam cried harder into Zayn's shirt. Niall pointed down the hall to where Tyler, Fae, and Ross were telling Zayn that he was going there silently. Zayn nodded and saw Niall wipe his teary eyes before walking to the kids.

"Liam" Zayn said trying to get him to calm down "Liam look at me" he said again pulling Liam back so they were face to face "Sophie, and I'm going to be brutally honest, may not live; and that sucks. But there is a bigger chance that she is going to wake up, that she will live. So let's look at the bright side and go explain what happened to Cece and then give a nice rainbow, soft version to the other kids and then we are going to go visit your wife, okay?"

"Okay" Liam nodded wiping his eyes

"Good" Zayn smiled slightly leading Liam over to Cecilia's room. Once they got there Liam took a deep breath calming himself down before opening the door. He walked in and saw Louis holding a crying Harry in the window seat. He sighed sadly before walking over to the side of Cecilia's bed grabbing her hand.

"Am I going to like what I'm about to hear?" Cecilia asked nervously but also sad

"Not really no" Liam shook his head sadly. Zayn went on the other side of Cecilia giving her arm, where there wasn't a cast, a pat before sitting and listening to Liam

"Okay" she breathed trying to stop the tears

"The good news is your mom is alive. But she is in a coma. When the car flipped your mom-" he stopped and breathed to stop from getting too worked up "-she hit her head quite a few times and very hard. So when and if she wakes up she will most likely have a severe case of amnesia"

"How much is a severe case?" Cecilia asked

"I don't know, if I'm being honest, I don't really know how the whole amnesia thing works. But I will ask the doctors for you"

"Is she going to forget about us?" Cecilia asked trying to keep a strong front up by staring at the wall ahead

"I don't know sweetie, I just don't know" he sighed looking down at the bed

"Dad" Cecilia said in a broken voice making Liam's head snap up to meet her teary eyes "I don't want her to forget us"

And then she let it all out.

All day she's been stopping herself from crying, because she thought she needed to be strong; but she couldn't do it anymore. She started sobbing making Liam sit on the bed quickly pulling her close and letting her cry into his chest.

Liam let a few stray tears fall as well as we rubbed her back and kissed her head gingerly. Zayn had watched the two before he stood up wiping his own eyes and walked to the other kid's room where Niall was. Harry still had his head in Louis' chest but it was turned to see Cecilia and Liam.

"It'll be ok" Liam whispered to Cecilia trying to convince himself as well
