Third Person POV

"Mr. Payne?" one of the nurses, Hannah, knocked on the door looking inside the room

"Yes Hannah?" Liam asked quietly trying not to disturb the sleeping girl in his arms

"There are people asking for you up front" the nurse said quietly. Liam looked down at Cecilia conflicted but Louis tapped him on the shoulder

"I got her, you go" he said gesturing with his head for Liam to go. Liam nodded his head lying Cecilia down on the hospital bed and stood up slowly. He planted a kiss on her forehead before nodding at Louis and following Hannah out of the room.

"You should probably get some sleep too" Hannah commented once they got out of the room

"I'm fine, I'm used to all-nighters" Liam chuckled dryly

"It's almost noon you've been up since you woke up yesterday. I can't tell you to do anything, but I suggested that you get some sleep"

"I will, after I see who's asking for me" Liam said and she nodded being hesitant. He woke up with Sophie at nine the morning before and he's been up since then. He's had three kids; he knows how to survive a day without sleep. But as much as happened, he was drained emotionally.

"Liam?" someone asked making Liam turn his head to see the two people that he really didn't want to see.

"What are you doing here?" Liam asked angrily

"The hospital called us to tell us that are daughter is in a coma, but she took us off her emergency contact so we can't go back there without someone on her emergency contacts with us" Dawn explained giving him a pleading look

"I told you never to come back" Liam said trying not to cause a scene

"You said never say a word to your kids unless we fixed it with Sophie, but we can't fix it so we thought we could come here" Joseph said

"My kids are back there, so no absolutely not" Liam shook his head

"What happened? Why are the kids back there?" Dawn asked in concern

"Have you not seen the news?" Liam asked confused

"No, we don't watch a lot of TV, especially the news. What happened?" Dawn asked again

"We were driving to my sisters and we were at an intersection and some driver ran the red light and hit us and we got in a really bad accident"

"Oh lord, is everyone ok?" Dawn asked

"I don't know, you're the one standing in a hospital because my wife's in a coma, so you tell me is everyone ok" Liam rolled his eyes

"I meant the kids"

"Yeah they're fine, just a bit beat up" Liam said wiping his hands over his face

"Ok, this probably isn't the best time for us to be here, but here is our contact information. Please call us when you have a free moment so we can see Sophie" Dawn pleaded holding out a card to Liam. He looked at it before snatching it up and reading over.

"I have to think about it" Liam mumbled not making eye contact with them

"Please do" Dawn said walking away. Joseph patted Liam's shoulder giving him a sympathetic look before walking to where Dawn was standing. Liam sighed looking as they left and then looked back at the card with their information on it. He sighed stuffing the card in his pocket and walked back into the children's ward. He walked into Ross' room seeing Niall talking to Fae while she looked out the window, and Zayn talking to Ross while Zayn held Tyler.

"Hey" Niall smiled

"Hey dad?" Fae asked looking over at Liam who walked over sitting next to her

"Yes baby girl?" he asked pulling her close

"Can I go home with Uncle Niall?" she asked looking over at Niall who smiled

"Of course sweetheart, whatever you want" Liam said kissing her forehead

"I'm going to take Tyler" Zayn said looking over at Liam from where he was sitting on the side of the hospital bed

"Can I go too and see Flynn?" Ross asked looking over at his dad

"I don't know Rossy, you have to get released first" Liam said scratching the back of his neck. Just as he said that a nurse came in and smiled at them before walking over and grabbing the clipboard at the end of the bed.

"When can he get released?" Zayn asked

"He can be released today but he needs to keep pressure off his leg. So he would be on bed rest and he needs to be walked out with a wheel chair and have a checkup later in the week. He also needs to keep away from screens, because of the concession" the nurse said flipping the page to look at some other notes

"So you want to still come home with me?" Zayn asked patting

"Yes" Ross nodded

"Ok, well I need you" she said pointing to Liam "To sign some papers and talk to the doctor"

"Oh of course" Liam nodded standing up kissing Fae's forehead "I love you my baby girl, have fun with Uncle Niall"

"I will, I'll see you tomorrow dad. Love you too" she said taking Niall's extended hand

"We'll stop by the house to get her some clothes and bring you some tomorrow" Niall said patting Liam's shoulder

"Thanks Ni" Liam smiled gratefully, waving to Fae as they walked out of the hospital room

"Right this way Mr. Payne" the nurse said walking out the door and gesturing for him to follow. After all the medical talk and signatures they brought back a wheel chair to the room and carefully put Ross in it. They gave him crutches but instructed him not to use them yet because he needed to keep his foot elevated.

"I'll see you soon champ" Liam said kissing the top of Ross' head as he got wheeled out by Perrie who came back to help with Tyler and Ross

"Bye dad" Ross waved back as he left

"Thank you so much man" Liam sighed going over and kissing Tyler's head from where he was in Zayn's arm

"Of course Li, you would do the same for me" Zayn smiled

"I know but thanks for taking two of my kids" Liam smiled walking Zayn out to the door. Zayn put Tyler in a car seat they had from Jasmine. He closed the door and, with the help of Liam, put Ross in the car as well. Zayn closed the door getting in the driver's side while Perrie was in the passenger.

"Get some sleep you look like hell" Zayn smiled out the window backing the car out of the parking space. Liam rolled his eyes walking back into the hospital waving to the lady at the front desk before walking back to Cecilia's room. He opened the door seeing her still asleep as well as Harry on the window seat, with Louis sitting in between them on his phone in a chair. He looked up when Liam walked in the room and smiled.

"Hey, I got these two if you want to check on Sophie" Louis said pointing to Harry and Cecilia

"Thank you" Liam mouthed backing out of the room into the hallway. He walked down the hallways until he reached ICU and walked to Sophie's room. He walked in sniffling when he saw his wife. The first time was hard but it got harder each time. This was only his second time but he could tell this was not going to get easier. He grabbed a chair pulling it to the side of the bed and frowned. He grabbed her hand gently hating how cold it felt.

He looked up at her pale face and wiped his eyes as he saw all the cuts and bruises on her body. Her body was only meant for kisses not bruises and scars.

He leaned back in the chair but kept his hand in hers. He just watched her until his eyes started getting droopy and he fell asleep with her on his mind and her hand intertwined with his.
