"Liam, darling wake up" Liam opened his eyes slowly looking around and seeing his hand still intertwined with Sophie's. He then looked up and saw his mom there with his sisters and dad behind her.
"Mum" he whimpered eyes filling with tears.
"Oh darling come here" she said opening her arms, and he didn't waste any time falling into them.
There is just something about the presence of your mom that just makes your vulnerable side come out. All the years of her kissing your boo-boo's better and holding you close after someone broke your heart just pull that side out of you.
"She's not doing good, mum" Liam said quietly trying to speak over his tears
"The doctor told us everything" his mom rubbed his back gently
"Hey baby bro you have to look on the bright side, she will most likely make it and she's in great hands" Ruth said coming and standing behind their mom rubbing his arm
"And if she makes it she'll wake up with severe amnesia" Liam sobbed holding his mom closer. Nicola and Geoff stood back watching with pitied looks as Karen tried to comfort her son. Ruth went over moving past Liam and Karen sitting in the seat Liam was in and looked at Sophie.
"Hey sis" Karen whispered smiling small "Um I don't know if you can hear me or not but Liam is struggling pretty badly, and your kids are worried about you. And we're all worried about you of course; we love you just as much as he does, in a family way. And I know you didn't have a good family but you're stuck with us now, and we're stuck with you. You're supposed to outlive mom and dad not the other way around. So if you can hear me, please fight and stay strong ok, you are strong and I know you can wake up. So please do"
"Liam darling look at me" Karen said pulling Liam back keeping her hands on his shoulders "I know you've kept all this in trying to be a good dad to those kids, but right now you're a husband. The kids are taken care of, and you need to be ready when she wakes up. You need to talk to the doctors and see if there is something you can do or treatment for amnesia. You need to google stuff, talk to your friends, hell talk to Cecilia she's a smart girl. Cause when she wakes up, and she will, you need to be strong for her and know what to do so you aren't in so much pain"
"You're right mum" he wiped his eyes
"I know it seems a bit mean and rough but you'll thank me later" she smiled placing a hand on his cheek
"I know" he smiled slightly
"We're going to check on Cecilia again. Do you need anything?" Karen asked walking towards the door
"No" he shook his head. Karen, Geoff, and Nicola left while Ruth stayed behind. He pulled up another chair sitting next to her both thinking quietly and looking at Sophie.
"I know what mom said was true, but if you ever need to be not strong I'm here" Ruth said looking over at him and patting his knee
"I know Ro, thank you" he smiled thankfully at her
"I was hoping to get another niece or nephew last night" Ruth joked smiling at Sophie
"So was I" Liam chuckled sadly but stopped as he choked up
"Hey now" she said pulling him close putting an arm around his shoulders "you're ok, the kids are ok, and Sophie will be ok. Everything's ok" she soothed rubbing his arm
"I know, it just hurts" he whimpered laying his head on her shoulder
"Oh Li" she said sadly pulling him closer
"I don't know what to do Ro"
She looked down sadly at her little brother, seeing the fourteen year old boy that got his heartbroken by some girl that he doesn't even remember. She saw his vulnerable side, and she never wanted to see it again. It's heartbreaking. When she heard how happy he was on the phone not even 24 hours ago, to seeing him like this. She just wanted to take all his pain and sadness away.
"Hey" she said softly making him look up "How about we go and find a computer and we start looking up some stuff after we talk to the doctor about what's happening and then we talk to Cecilia and get her on this"
"Ok that sounds good" he nodded sitting up and wiping his eyes
"Come on let's go"

"Cecilia" Liam knocked on the door lightly before walking in and seeing her talking with Harry
"Hey dad" Cecilia gave him a sad smile
"Hey princess" he smiled sitting on the bed next to her
"You haven't called me that in a while" she smiled "Hi Aunt Ruth"
"Hi darling" Ruth smiled leaning up against the wall by the end of the bed
"How are you doing?" Liam asked giving her a small smile and patting her hand
"I'm good, my neck is sore" she frowned
"Yeah that would be the whiplash princess" he smiled sympathetically
"For my broken ribs or whatever do they heal themselves or do I have to do anything with them because it hurts when I breathe too heavy"
"I believe they heal on their own, but it's going to hurt to laugh or breathe heavy for a while" he said sympathetically
"Um did you check on mom?" she asked nervously
"Yeah, I did" he nodded
"Is- um is she ok?" Cecilia asked biting her lip
"She was fine, but Ruth and I talked to the doctors about mom and her um amnesia. And Ruth and I looked some stuff up and we can explain some of it, only if you want us to"
"Do I want to?" Cecilia asked nervously
"It depends. I was ok for most of it, and there are a lot of things that can happen. And they're a bit unexpected? Like they could happen but they could not, it all depends"
"Ok, I wanna hear it"
